How long have you been writing? If you're fairly new and want to get into topicals and storytelling that's more the kinda shit I can offer to help you with.

Fuck knows.
12 years now, I think.

I'm down for topicals.
The main thing I gotta figure out is the structure.

ideas>mechanics tbh. mechanics can be practiced and improved fairly easily, but having original concepts and ideas is much more difficult. I'd say the most important thing you can do is read a lot, take note of how people angle their thoughts and approach a topic. Too many people focus on flow/rhyme schemes and neglect the actual meat of their writing, which is the content behind the rhymes.

Guess we'll find out, huh.
Been a minute since I wrote much, real life been too tantalizing with business.

Seems like you'll figure out most of the shit on your own tbh if you got 12 years on you. If you had just been starting out some pointers is great but at this point the best way to learn and develope a unique style is doing you. Just get into battles/whatever and listen to the feedback given. With the ammount of writing you got behind you I think you can fairly easilly disregard bullshit and take to heart what you can grow on. Having a ''mentor'' can both be helping and hurting as you're more fixated on what a certain mentor would say rather than developing your own style etc. Just get back in the game and do your shit.

Word @ everything Oats said.

Meh, fuck that. Join a league, that's where the best feedback is to be found.
