There's a trade off between deductibles and premiums. Company's ARE cutting hours & healthy young people have an incentive not to enroll as the penalty is only $100 vs paying thousands for shit they don't need.

Is it the Fall of Rome? Probably. But it has nothing to do with politics or who's President or any policies. Well, it does have to do with policies, but only tangentially. They only reflect the general mind of the acceptable practices allowed by the people. Our fall will be a societal one, blamed on something more simplistic. I am a Patriot, and not wont to doom and gloom, but our trend is downwards. Blaming the Government or the process electing the blamable Government is a lapse of logic. It's the minute shifts in attitude and responsibility accumulating over decades and decades that lead to a fall. It's nothing conspiratorial or sexy. It's the dull erosion of time in success and the subsequent lackadaisical proceedings. Nothing stays the same. We were once on a come up, one that we achieved. And now we are reaping the assumed continued superiority while other entities grow through their come up using the successes we engendered. It's simple science.

this form of government works if the slate is wiped clean and we start from scratch, from the city level to state to federal

soldiers weren't mistreated because they were lifelong soldiers. not some halfass 6-12 weeks training and 2-4 years of service bullshit. then they are expected to come back to society? yea fucking right. the romans knew better. they'd give there veterans lands away from the populace so they could live out there years in peace. not try and re integrate them into a society they aint built for anymore

As far as the Fall Rome thing...America is literally too big to fail. There is FFFAAARRR too much dependence on America in the global economy for that to happen. The fall of Rome landed Western society smack dab into the middle ages. America falling eradicates England's defense policies, puts the EU in direct competition with Russia for economic dominance, and absolutely destroys any idea of Chinese growth when they lose their Major supplier of food, fresh water and money, and cut's out a HUGE portion of the oil supply from the world market. "Rome" won't fall...this time, the world won't let it.

And that's not even taking into account the effect that our Navy has in keeping the world..."honest" with each other. It might off balance things heavily in our favor; but every one else at least is on a relatively level playing field.

Believe it or not, for the time being, one world power is better than 2 or 3 vying with each other for supremacy.
