How Big Is Space?

Logically...

uh-oh 10-02-2013 07:20 PM

infinite

literally...

SpookyDeep 10-02-2013 07:21 PM

I know they say space is infinite, but that's circular reasoning. Circular reasoning is a logical fallacy.

They say space is infinite. How do you know if space is infinite? Because they say space is infinite...

Mike Wrecka 10-02-2013 07:27 PM

space has to be infinite. which by the way, means it doesn't have a beginning or an end.

if space wasn't infinite and did indeed come to an end, what would be outside that end. more space

SpookyDeep 10-02-2013 07:33 PM

Space doesn't have a shape or size...seems spiritual

Boredom 10-02-2013 07:34 PM

good reasoning tbh... keep going.

here is a much more interesting question

if space is infinite, which I think most agree that it is, well wouldn't that mean that there is infinite possibilities of different scenarios? logically it almost has to right?

so by that reasoning there is a planet that has talking walruses that drive cars and shit correct?

There's a bigger chance that a planet like that exists than it not existing. Same thing goes for pokemon as well. Somewhere, out there, there's a fucking pokemon world and I want to be in it.

Think about infinite magnification

Let me be clear...I'm focusing inward when I say infinite magnification like focusing on a spot of something small that has been defined

So infiniteness can be going outward or inward right?

Hush 10-02-2013 08:06 PM

Good job spooky

Be yourself

interesting thought. the smallest things that we can perceive on this planet are things like atoms and sub atomic particles. but what if there were things inside of cells that are as small to them as they are to us

SpookyDeep 10-02-2013 08:54 PM

That's what I'm saying

We don't know how little space inside is either right?

Something's dimensions must be infinite too

Fart 10-02-2013 09:01 PM

Also we can only see 3 dimensions. So a majority of space we couldn't see or comprehend no matter how big it IS

Mike Wrecka 10-02-2013 09:03 PM

not to mention alternate dimensions within the multiverse

Diode 10-02-2013 09:07 PM

it is not infinite.

it may even be collapsing.
