On the grind
 

I stay on the grind all day.
Money ain't a joke, no time to play.
I'm grinding for that paper, no time to delay.
I'm stacking licks, I watch it sway.
Grinding, Grinding, Grinding, it's all I see.
I gotta stack up licks, that's the key.
I'm riding a fancy car,
I don't got to be rich to be a star.

So, I see, someone who finds more value in the world around them than just monetary value. But because we are in a world where it's necessary to survive, both physically and socially, the narrator is like, preoccupied in a autopilot kind of way to keep money the priority. But deep down, it knows it's own value and the value of much more subtle things, like art and love and self care.
