keeping it honest.
I've really been all over this album, studying it from beginning to end just like i did with illmatic when i first heard it. I mean lyrically YOU KNOW INYO SOUL Earl raised the bar higher than Nas did, and the imagery throughout both these albums where amazing but Earl in my opinion paints one even better and more detailed but being more detail can come off as being complex and when its more complex its more of a little xtra hassle to really pay 100% of your attentipn to it. but c'mon god damn.. centurion. it really was an amazing album. |

1. "It Ain't Hard to Tell" 2. "The World is Yours" 3. "Memory Lane (Sittin' in the Park)" 4. "New York State of Mind" 5. "Represent" 6. "Life's a Bitch" 7. "Halftime" 8. "One Love" 9. "One Time 4 Your Mind" So yeah, the worst track on Illmatic was Nas in his prime rapping over a Large Professor beat, including these lines: Quote:

Illmatic dope as fucking fuck
|
one time 4 yo mind has the dopest flow on the album imo
|
I remember being a young Pancake listening to illmatic not knowing what was happening to my ears.
It's one of those albums I wish I could listen to for the first time again. |
