Frankly, I think this is closer than many folks have said. The concept in Adverse’s opener was really solid, but the execution wasn’t ideal IMO. It was too wordy and didn’t flow well. I wasn’t really feeling all that much the rest of the concepts (or didn’t get them, like the Blue reference). It was definitely a more polished/traditional verse though.

Halo’s verse wasn’t as bad as folks are making it out to be; it was just really unpolished and nontraditional.. and needed some extra wit to make up for it... and, unfortunately, it didn’t have it. But, there were a couple of lines that I think would have had some decent impact in a live setting, for example.

Adverse wins, but not in as much of a landslide as the ultimate vote count will be. Cheers.

Broken halo. Take the advice you’re given and use it. This isn’t rhyming battle. It’s battle rap. Throw punches. Not just for the sake of rhyme. Write the punch first. Then work on the setup and end rhyme that you’ve already laid out in the punch. You may have to tweak it. Don’t just start writing setups and then be like “ok, what’s the punch???” It doesn’t work ever.
