Week 8: FGR (4-3) VS. ORC (3-2) - ORC WINS
 

Rules

Due Dates:
• Verses are due FRIDAY by 11:59 PM PST.
• Voting ends MONDAY ideally
• Battles that lack votes may close later.
• One sided battles may get closed early.
• Extensions are 24 hours, anything longer is a DQ and/or Double DQ
• To avoid issues, you are encouraged to PM me your verse in advance

Line Limit:
• Min. = 10 lines
• Max. = 20 lines
• The max. can be higher if different is agreed upon by both.

Voting:
• I do not have time to count links, and I know nobody wants to post them because it’s tedious. Do your part and vote or I’m making house calls.

General Rules:
• 1st person to post can't edit after the 2nd person posts.
• 2nd person to post can't edit after a vote has been made.
• Feeding = DQ.
• Recycling = DQ.
• Biting = DQ.
• No freeposting, swaying or bitching.
• Unless a picture battle is agreed upon,
linking to your opponent's picture or posting it
means you will disqualified.
• A check in isn't mandatory, but it is encouraged.
• If your opponent doesn't check in,
you still have to post a verse.
• Competitors should agree on a line limit in their check in.
• If no line limit is agreed on, then the 2nd person to post
must match the 1st person's line amount, and can’t post more lines.

Orc won this, although both had some funny concepts/ideas. Orc’s flowed a lot better to me. There were various points where it was a struggle to follow FGR’s lines... If you’re going to have a long line, it needs to be preceded or succeeded by a short one (or needs less syllables or internal rhymes or obvious pauses to make the cadence come off natural). There were various lines where FGR’s verse seemed to force in words when it should have been pared down.

Orc’s seen from space line was dope. The Joker pencil flip was done really well. FGR had some good jabs too. Leg day, pumping hand soap, etc. But, all in all, I thought Orc’s verse read more smoothly and hit a bit harder.

Good battle. Orc wins.

Enjoyed this battle. Orc has a funny style and the wordings always efficient which makes it a better read. His last few bars started to drop off a bit but the closer was nice. FGR had some nice angles and was pretty consistent throughout. Some of the lines like the shotgun opener could’ve been harder hitting if you trimmed down a couple words I think.

FGR had some decent concepts poorly worded/executed.

Examples; circulation was there just over worded. Soap was there but poorly worded/executed. Leg work was almost there but again, poorly delivered.

Orc wins with more effective punches and just an overall better written verse.

kinda funny, I did a double take at the picture and I can imagine this hitting harder for a certain photo, but I don't think the visual supports the bar. The sleeves are riding up, but it seems like a fairly normal-fitting shirt to me.

Kinda the same comment as above tbh, think the wording could've been more harsh

highlights -
high vis, miracle whip, 5g vs. legwork and handsoap

from orc, the joe metts and insulation bars and the 2 gloryhole bars from fgr were misses for me. Line length really isn't a factor for me, I think as far as content orc just did a better job of wording and executing his bars, which caused them to land harder.
