not saying he's a better boxer - I don't think anybody is. But Mayweather's heaviest fights have been at 154. Silva has to cut down to 185. That's a huge weight disparity for anyone to overcome.

I don't even know what the catchweight would be. Silva has fought at 170 before, that would have to be it. Still don't see Mayweather winning though, come fight time Silva would be back around 185, and Floyd would be a bloated 168ish. Myself and Mexico both love Mayweather, but the size gap will outweigh the technical gap imo.

@Aero can't compare Mayweather and Tyson, completely different styles. Mayweather is all defense, Tyson is all offense and aggression. Plus Tyson was dominating cans for a huge chunk of his career. Plus the difference between 220 and 270 isn't as significant as the difference between 140 and 190 (which is essentially the weight gap between Mayweather and Silva). KO power etc. Yeah, not an appropriate analogy at all.
@Knucklehead Silva has had pro boxing matches and has sound, crisp boxing technique. Jones is a converted wrestler who's a freak athlete. Again, not an appropriate analogy.

when you have Jiu Jitsu my friend.... Size does not matter my friend. Silva is a fighter, Mayweather is a Boxer. Yes, MMA has rules... but it's a far less sanctioned fight. Boxing is just like Submission Grappling, a sport, with rules... That to me is far less entertaining than MMA, or grappling for that matter.
