Lol. The wire introduced me to the hideous baltimore accent. I was ignorant of it until then. But the emphasis on the eww sounds in words immediately gives it away now.

Same with philly i never noticed till recently but its mainly the oh soound in words like "home". If you seen bam margeras recent meltdown he does it big time. And water pronounced wooter/worder.

There was a time i thought there was only 3 accents. Southern, boston, and regular american lmao. Oh and cartoonish brooklyn italian but im still convinced thats all put on like dice clay lol

I feel The Wire opened up many to it.
Snoop, Proposition Joe, & a few smaller role characters displayed it mainly. T's don't exist in words so "worder" for "water" is correct here.
Philly has more up north influences in their pronunciations, but not too far removed. You can kinda hear their growth in transition of words. Much smoother than us, tbh.

Living in Louisville, I hear amalgamations of accents as opposed to a region based accent.
