I like Eminem

By far my favorite rapper. I own an original pressing of Infinite on vinyl. The dark colored one. Not that lightly colored reprint. I can recite whole albums. If I had the opportunity to have a sit down conversation with a celebrity it would be Em. I won’t argue with you about who’s better, but I doubt you’re changing my opinion.

I know there are fans of every artist who will blindly follow whatever they do/say. That’s when fandom gets weird.

Seen the Stan joke used about 12 times in the other thread so here. Just let it all out in here.

Chill Phil 09-04-2018 10:33 AM

I used to be an Eminem fan, until he started doing that weird accent shit on the album with the song "rain man," on it. He lost me forever after that.

I'm tuning in to this back and forth though. Of course Eminem is the better lyricist of the two. But the shots being fired from both just makes for a great bit of entertainment.

Hush 09-04-2018 10:43 AM

Is Eminem the best to y’all cuz it’s most relatable and was released at a time in your life where you was quite impressionable ?

Cuz he def not the best rapper alive today

Destroyer 09-04-2018 10:45 AM

Lol. Who is then, Vic?

Hush 09-04-2018 10:46 AM

Cole and Kendrick both better than current Em dude

I could go on

Hush 09-04-2018 10:48 AM

This

I liked him when I was a preteen cus swearing and being oddly violent was kewl xD

After the only people that vibed with him I knew were poor white dudes, same people that started bumping mgk when he came up

I don’t disrespect his legacy in terms of talent and clout. He did his thing and did it well. As a technical rhymer was he top 5 at his time? Yes. Did he influence some of today’s beat rhymers? Yes. Is he now technically still the best? No.

He is an all time great but so we’re atheltes that would get fucking destroyed by new age atheltes. Time = progression.

I’m curious is dull boy is a Stan because of nostalgia, his technical prowess, and/or the content of his music/story.

Amen 09-04-2018 11:03 AM

There isn't a lyricist who can match EM's pen game. And I'm not even a EM fan like that.

As far as song making. He's definitely not the best. Majority do it better.

But when it comes to the pen. I don't see anyone better.

dull boy 09-04-2018 11:06 AM

I like Hip Hop.
Naughty by Nature, Mobb Deep, Wu, Redman
LL, Pac, Big, Snoop, Pun, Nas and on and on and on.
I feel like Mos Def's Black on Both Sides is my favorite Hip Hop album.
Rawkus led to Def Jux led to Rhyme Sayers.

The way Em represents lyricism and respects Hip Hop is part of why he's my favorite.
MGK is right. He's a 'dweeb'. Word nerd. Fucking Hip hop historian.
The way Em writes is why I like him. Delivery wise not many are on his level, either.

While I can vibe out to The Chronic,
I'm not going to be sitting there picking the bars apart.
Because there just isn't the same amount of depth.

Kendrick is really dope. I haven't listened to much Cole,
because I don't like the sing song shit. Same with Drake.

Em is white and a fucking nerd. So obviously he's more relatable.

Cus of his multis? Or his wordplay?

Never got how people definitively place him as the best when there’s so many styles

His content is garbage and for edgy kids and white trash

I like lyricists. Em's story is fascinating because he's basically Jackie Robinson.
Only it happened in 1998 when I was 15 years old.

Do I think he's the best now? Yeah.
Name a record lyrically more impressive than Kamikaze made this year or last.

Destroyer 09-04-2018 11:11 AM

Lol @ Kanye and pusha T
I mean, I like what they both doing but to say that Kanye has ever been a better rapper than Eminem now or at any time is just laughable

The best way to improve your posture is to focus on exercises that strengthen your core -- the abdominal and low back muscles that connect to your spine and pelvis.

Because of his delivery. His ability to rhyme relevant multiple syllables, stay in the scheme and incorporate clever wordplay into those lines in a way that works both ways.

Other talented writers have trouble doing that type of thing even a little bit. I know how difficult it is because I've spent 20 years writing rhymes, and I don't have to worry about delivering them over a beat.

Name a better lyricists. And I mean lyricist, not song maker.

I'll wait.

KOD

Lyrics aren’t shit if the content is trash. Kamikaze was a good listen but aside from the Joyner track it has no replay value. Bunch of wordplays that have been done to death by textcees which were a result of him and disses that don’t serve a purpose beyond the initial shock value. All those Eminem show style Eminem singing on the hook songs on this were garbage.

Kendrick. Joyner. JID. Cole.

Of the new school

Big Pun was a better wordsmith than him during their time.

Big Pun - one of the GOATS here.

It's all preference.

I think Kendrick is highly overrated. But agree on Cole, sort of.
