I've heard that Lou Reed's solo stuff is nice. Velvet Underground was meh to me, though. Venus in Furs, though. That's a fucking song. But even without hearing that album I already know it's apples to oranges. I appreciate early Coldplay. It's earnest radio music that gets frowned upon because its earnest, then gets frowned upon because it's ubiquitous. But for me they're in that unfuckwitable zone that everyone has for specific music. I have memories and nostalgia related to them that makes it impossible for the intelligentsia and lifeless music critique I now enjoy to penetrate. Ingrained in my personality. Coldplay is dope. Early Coldplay, at least. I leave my elitism at the door when I listen to them.
