Josh Allen’s 90 yard able arm

Josh Allen
Now when I was 13 I cared allot about my arm strength, well, I mean I enjoyed my ability to put length on my throws. I could throw it 30 yards off my back foot, but only could throw 40 with a step because I didn’t have good mechanics.
I had mad arches too, I could drop it in the bucket, when I was thirteen my little bro and a kid around 10 who was my bro’s friend would play football. I was all time QB btw. The kids shorter height and no hands meant I had to be really accurate to get it to him, and he dropped my threads straight through the needle.

TLDR I like long throws, you know who throws it long as hell?

Josh Allen, he has the strongest arm I’ve ever seen. He effortlessly throws it 80 yards, with arcs like magic. Keep in mind the longest throw in an NFL game was 74 yards, and the longest Matthew Stanford can throw is 75.
74 mph speeds. He’s insane

Lol the comparison is stupid, if your comparing them as QB’s and not just their arm strength, Josh hasn’t played in the NFL yet. Keep in mind no one thought Tom Brady was good in college. While I don’t think Josh will be as good as Elway, you never know.
If we are comparing there arms, show me a 90 yard throw to a receiver by Elway,

Chill Phil 08-02-2018 03:54 PM

Years and years ago I saw Brett Favre throw a football 80 yards during a QB challenge on TV. He put effort behind it though.

A dude that can throw 80 yards effortlessly though? that's terrifying.

Imagine getting sucker punched by THAT mothr fucker. Is there video evidence of what you claim?

uh-oh 08-02-2018 05:45 PM

flacco threw 74, but he put a ton of force into it.

http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=1fa_GrbdcjY&t=104s

theres also a sketchy vid of lamar jackson allegedly throwing 100 yards in high school, but its realistically probably 80. like he's throwing from the end zone but the guy catching it doesn't look close to it. but again that was him launching it full effort too

http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=LlaiDT9Px8I

josh allen has a fucking cannon as well but this is highly exaggerated. him at full effort was 77 yards

http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=YAc-yNX8MYk

its still a cannon though.

i'll take a big doofy strong armed pocket passer over everyone else all day

Fart 08-02-2018 05:51 PM

I’d take an accurate game manager over retard strength any day

uh-oh 08-02-2018 05:57 PM

i equate pocket passers with game manager types. basically just don't go for heroics and don't fucking scramble around like an idiot

the big arm has to be there for me though, it doesn't need to be INSANE like allen/flacco/stafford, but if your receiver has a step on a corner you gotta be able to get it out in front of him.

thats flaccos biggest fault on his deep balls, he overthrows guys alot, and then has a tendency to underthrow guys after already missing with an overthrow

it used to work when we had receivers with a decent IQ like torrey smith, because they could get DPI's.

He threw 80 yards without cricket steps or a major set up to a receiver on his Pro Day day, in fact it was a little more than 80.

I saw LJ throw in practice at UL and it's kinda crazy how effortless it seems for him to throw 50-60 yards

Not a top arm from what I’ve seen

Josh
Patrick
Matthew
Aaron
Brady
Is my current list in that order. I haven’t seen any really long throws fr Carson off his back leg or anything.
65 yards or less is pretty doable, Darnold, Rosen, Baker, Lamar, all can do it just in the first round of the draft.
Now Flacco is known for his arm ability but I feel Brady’s a little slept on too, 73 yards in the air is his longest, second longest I am NFL game, and the first is 74 by Aaron Rodgers but his was over shot and so was measured by when it hit the ground, Brady’s hit Randy Moss’s shoulder and so didn’t go as far as it could’ve, and I think it could have easily been 75 yards.

uh-oh 08-03-2018 04:23 AM

that pro day throw was 70 yards in the air. from his own 20, to the 10.

edit- watched again and it was more like 67, didn't make it to the 10, but he was definitely right on his own 20 yard line when releasing it

keep in mind it was the offseason on NFL network and you're hearing mike mayock try and keep an audience lol.

uh-oh 08-03-2018 04:37 AM

id like to see mahomes longest throw

cuz he has a cannon, but again it might not be that far. its kind of counter productive when you throw it TOO hard. the physics behind how the ball flies, which is why those "effortless" throws are crazy

i dont think ive seen rogers or bradys longest ball

but looking at rogers hail mary, you see him run into it and throw his hardest, from the 35 and it is caught like 3 yards in the end zone, wouldve likely hit the ground 5 yards deep, it was coming down like a punt. so that would be a 70 yarder

so him throwing 74 makes more sense to me if its more of a normal focused bomb, feet set good, perfect spiral scenario and not yanking it too hard

in perfect conditions im sure allen could hit 80. and imagine them in altitude

flaccos bomb to jacoby against the broncos was only like 65 yards, but he was off balance moving left and throwing to the right sideline. but the altitude helped carry it. probably why the defense underplayed it too cuz it just hung in the air

His throw at 2:50 was from the 15, and while we don’t see it hit the ground, you can see the receivers head is about 2 yards from the 5, his arm out stretched is about 1 1/2 from that and the ball’s about 1/2 from his hand making it around 80 yards
This math isn’t exact but it’s def in the 78-80 range with no cricket steps

uh-oh 08-03-2018 06:24 PM

word i didn't stick around that long but just checking it and you're right, it probably hit around the 5. impressive shit. it was far from effortless though lol

i liked the kid coming out of the draft but his completion pctg and shit was a little offputting but i don't put too much stock in it. i think he could do very well. but i'm always wrong about rookie qb talent.

you a bills fan? see you wk 1 doggie.

Not a bills fan, also Brett Favre’s comp% in college is 10% lower than his NFL one. Comp% in college is way different than NFL cuz you play with worse receivers in a different offense

Wow DMS you know a lot about QuarterBacks, who do you think is going to BreakOut this year???
