Guide to get Kodi in the first place for new users

Word ima check that now ive been following a chinamens directions on youtube, downloaded kodi and installing some misfitmod build and hardknox but shit takes forever to download. Not sure if its my wifi or these programs

Yea i am googling more and this hardnox thing is a "build" or someshit, ive got it loaded up and ive seen neptune rising, placenta, planetmma etc all saying updating etc. I wonder if this is just an aggregate program or something?

Just uninstall and reinstall kodi it takes like 2 minutes max lol

i might have a shit firestick. kodi is 86 mb. shit that small downloads almost instantly with my wifi, but im at 37 mb and counting with the firestick.

thought maybe my living rooms coverage is shit but my phones wifi bar thing is full and was loading everything at lightspeed

so maybe the wifi picker upper is just trash?

hardnox was probable fine, but it was taking forever just to load up menus and when i clicked a quiet place to watch it looked like it was loading but zero movement of the progress bar

im done fucking with it for the night though, got kodi downloading i'll mess with it in the morning.

it took an hour for the 167 mb hardnox program/addon/mod for kodi to download for example

might have been a poor purchase. i mainly got it for my pops since i basically gave him my ps4 to use as a media center. he's all the way in the basement and the connection is spotty but i mean he streams hd netflix/hulu/youtube and shit

i figured this would be easier and i could knock a few monthly payments off

but oh well.

Did you use the WiFi booster?

Make sure you use that AND plug it into the wall for power don’t use your TVs USB port for power

Yea i did all that from the beginning.

I got it all set up now, i think its just kodi/neptune rising that blows.

I have amazon prime and can stream shows and movies off that in 1080 hd seamlessly, menus and artwork appear instantly with no problems. I didnt put any apps on it yet other than kodi so i dont know how netflix/youtube etc would run

With neptune rising some menus just dont load at all. I click new tv shows, the loading symbol spins until it stops but doesnt load that directory, its like i never clicked it, but i can click genre and whatever else reality tv for example and a list of shows load i can click a show and an episode and get a million links. But it goes through like 20links before beginning to load the episode, and if it does begin playing its super standard definition and pauses to buffer and dies within a few minutes. Ive tried different movies and shows, and eventually i lose connection and have to force restart the firestick

Hardnox did the same thing but it had a clean layout and easier to get around directory with like top shows and movies easier to get too, not lists but more of an artwork directory. But it also streamed like pure shit and took to long to load anything

Is it just the 3rd party nature of sources?

mine works flawlessly so no that isn't normal

i have 700mbs down usually though not sure where you're at

netflix/hulu will always run faster than anything else

so its probably the 3rd party websites being slow + my connection

i ran a speed test in my room and its 30 down 10 up. tried it again and it was like 48 down 7 up lol. just the google speedtest thing

guess the wifi is just too spotty for the nature of that streaming. im assuming actual video sites, amazon/netflix/hulu have the fast servers like steam. it takes me like an hour to download a 10 gb file through torrents, but maybe 20-30 minutes to get a 10 gb file through steam. because of the dedicated nature of it or some horseshit.
