The Premier Text Battling Tournament

Rules

Due Dates:

Verses are due TUESDAY,
Voting ends FRIDAY,
Battles that lack votes may close later.

One sided battles may get closed early.

Extensions are normally 24 hours
(unless requested otherwise, that is),
can be no longer than 48 hours
and have to be granted by your opponent.

Line Limit:

Min. = 10 lines
Max. = 30 LINES
The max. can be higher if different is agreed upon by both. If no line agreement is made you CANNOT go above 24 lines

General Rules:

1st person to post can't edit after the 2nd person posts.
2nd person to post can't edit after a vote has been made.
Feeding = DQ.
Recycling = DQ.
Biting = DQ.
No freeposting, swaying or bitching.
Unless a picture battle is agreed upon,
linking to your opponent's picture or posting it
means you will disqualified.
A check in IS mandatory -- if there's no check in by Friday, you will be replaced.
Competitors should agree on a line limit in their check in.
If no line limit is agreed on, then the 2nd person to post
must match the 1st person's line amount.

v/ Karaoke w/ a slight edge here. Wasn't impressed by either verse, however Enbombz lacked the proper/harsh executions on some of his concepts for them to have any form of an impact.

That Orc shit could’ve been a KO but the way you worded it softened it for me a good bit.

I thought win ugly was dope.

Laughingstalk could’ve been cool but didn’t like the connection.

I know what Tekken is but not enough to get the connection you used.

In and out/ Hi and Bye wasn’t great.

King’s Speech was ok.

Seen a few Fergies lines already. This one didn’t stand out.

I’m guessing this is about Innovator? But I don’t know the disc. reference.

Seen name for yourself a lot in the past.

Drake line is ok.

Seen the drag concept a lot before. The current Lars connection makes it a little better.

I actually have Joog here. I didn’t think either was great but I think Joog had lotb with win ugly and even though some concepts weren’t worded great, felt they were fresher than KK’s.

ehhh idk sour had the highest highs but the lowest lows.........karaoke was consistent but kindve boring. idk I hate when people say OH THIS NOT UR USUAL....cuz each verse should be judged as a stand alone.....but its hard not to think it still. but word regardless I guess ill edge it to kar because his one banger was enough to eek out the win in my opinion since he didn't have any misses really just lines I thought were average as opposed to jog where a couple bars were just outright bad to me.

Sour joog had some decent bars thrown in besides the closer & opener.
both of those didnt really hit for me & were just filler, which could have worked but nah.
that Tekken line was pretty well set up though, some fire right there.
took me a second to figure out what the laughingstalk meant which is meh but still cool
I actually thought the hi & bye line was cool too. but idk
Karaoke dropped some dope shit after that opener as well, the opener was blah
maybe its because its the 2nd time I seen Fergie mentioned but idk. I didnt like it
either way I think Karaoke & Joog are well matched here & this is one of the better battles Ive seen so far.
Im going to have to with Karaoke for having the consistent verse though.
I liked 65% of what Joog brought to the table which is good. but not good enough to outwit Karaoke here...

Joog had a couple of joints that was slick, but the few bad misses stick out in my mind.
KK had the effective & harsh punches he's known to write, especially 'name for yourself' & 'god's plan'.

This could swing either way imo.
I liked joogs tekken & win ugly bars.
felt opener needed better wording & laughing stalk was too easy imo. closer missed for me.

Kar -- Gods plan & Automatics were coo
Everything else was executed well enough....concepts i wasnt feeling too much
name for yourself been done imo.
