Anyone down to try complete the Tri-Fecta of leagues here again?
 

First person to champ the NBL, the AOWL and Nik's up coming Lyric Olympics weekly challenge. No one here has ever champed all three. I reckon I can do it. I managed two out of three last time (when we had the LGPA) so i def think it's doable, but it will be a challenge.

I'm down for it. I've signed up for all three.

It's harder than it looks, even with a bit of a lull right now. Black August still made it to the finals and the AOWL will bring topical heads back. I'm sure the LO will be in good hands with Nik at the helm. The NBL has long been the staple of NC's. No one is champing by getting by on easy wins, make no mistake about it.

It will never happen

Our best battler will never be better than our best topical writer. Ever. And vice a versa

Playing Devil's Advocate here even tho I think you're right: Could the best topical writer beat the best battler on a bad day and vice versa? If so, there's still a chance that it might be possible despite that fact the person that excels in their genre will win a huge majority of the time. Or am I completely off track here? If I ain't it's still possible that a topical or battle head gets a really good run with the right motivation (as in winning all 3) but will probably never be able to repeat it again.

I'm not saying I'm the best at either, but I like to think I'm considered a top tier topical writer and at least mid-tier text battler. I've got a few scalps on my win list that were considered good when they lost to me. I'm by no means a push over on the text battle tip, and I've been caught slipping by opponents I've underestimated on the toptical side. It can def happen. I've seen Nik champ topical tourneys, I've seen @Pinot Grij champ both, @Pent uP is a decent text battler as is @Witty. @Frank was a phenomenal text battler in his day "I'll put a pound to your chest like Tarzan")

Make no mistake, there's more than a few of us who are at least good or above average at both and will win if you sleep.

aside from that tho....how exactly does one champ niks weekly spotlight thing....if u win the battle of the week ur the champ? so u just win one battle?

I champed nwl which was the topical league before warthog gate and the aowl separation from NC

Can confirm; the Captain Neckbeard vs. Triple Lyrical Threat still stands, to this day, as one of the NWL's greatest chanp matches.
