What is the beastliest setup possible
Im pretty pc ignorant still but yo
I still want to dabble with 3d rendering and modeling right, but from the little ive looked into cards made for that tend to blow at actually playing games. If that makes sense The main program i use utilizes cuda cores. So while a game developer video card has a bazillion of those basically, whatever is needed, like i dunno memory speed or some shit it lacks So im thinking should i just sli 2 1080tis? Or is there better shit i dunno about Gaming wise my 980 ti still thugs out on everything but yea Also if im gonna drop stupid money on video cards i should probably drop stupid money on everything So what am i looking at? Like 5 gs or something Also i guess i could keep my pc now for gaming and get a goofy developer card for a new pc altogether but i forget the price on those cards. Think theyre like 5gs themselves. Hmm @schein whats the dream build Also is there a company that just makes the hands down most powerful pcs so i dont have to put something yogether Like best processor motherboard max ram max storage ssd blah blah max everything Thats probably in the double digits tho huh |
@Diasick tbh he knows his shit on the comp side
|
Dia has a garbage build
I'll read the whole thing and give suggestions in a minute |
All depends on your max budget
5gs is it? |

That's what I'd spend the money on plus a better sli bridge Assuming you carry over your mouse/keyboard/monitor Also that doesn't show prices on blower style cards but repwlce the dukes with founder editions Better blower for sli |
yea i was mainly wondering what is the top tier of everything but it looks like that site has a list of all parts so i can kind of put it all together
wondering what the price range would be for a legit best pc you can build. i was on my phone this morning so that post reads like shit. also looking on that site, does price = better? for instance im in the first part, the cpu. if i sort by price the 3400 dollar one doesn't have the speed or as many cores as other ones. im not even sure what the speed and cores mean im just assuming the higher the better lmao |
Well more cores is better for some things like servers and shit
Gaming IPC matters so less cores with higher clocks Development needs to be in between That build was my opinion of the best combination of things for around 5k |
word the 5g's was just a random number i threw out as a guess to what a beast pc would cost
but im thinking that is super lowball now, the main point of the thread was a, "what is the best pc humanly possible basically, and how much would that cost?" type thing mainly so i could wrap my head around a figure. i could save up and drop 10 maybe, but i wont since its not going to be some god machine lol, i'd rather just buy a single 1080 ti for 750 or whatever and keep it moving for now. i'll buy a bengal cat instead finally and name him reginald |
This would be my money doesnt matter balance of gaming and productivity
https://pcpartpicker.com/list/YB6Gr7 I would pay JayzTwoCentz to do a custom water loop if money was no object though |
mining has ruined gfx card prices.

Sold my 480 for double what I paid right at the beginning, its getting better but still not great. 1080 and above wasn't affected really |
I still understand none of it, i just know alot of times when i download stuff, instead of getting sent to some ad type site where you have to wait to skip to get to the dl (like adfly) im now directed to like a "mining" verification process.
So basically a site utilizes my pc for 5 seconds to mine a cryptocurrency before redirecting to a megaupload or something for example Im too late to the cryptocurrency game to give a shit about learning anything |
But yo is the titan better than 1080 ti? I thought i seen benchmarks and stuff that the 1080 ti was basically as good as it gets. I even seen things like in sli it doesnt perform as well as a single card. Like it cant utilize it right
Are the titans better for 3d modeling/rendering or something so the difference in gaming (which i think is negligible) makes them more desirable? With IRAY i know the best way to render animations and images and shit it uses cuda cores, i think the titan has more than the 1080 i dunno Im still lost with it. |
Ok lol so
The titan has been re done a few times When the 1080 ti came out there was the Titan X which was the second card named the Titan X so everyone unofficially called it the Titan XP. P for Pascal which is the chipset it is based on. Then Nvdia launched after the 1080 ti the officially named Titan Xp. The p being little is in purpose lol. Named thst for the same reason. So the titan x little p as its called is currently the fastest consumer/enthusiast card to date. Faster than the 1080ti but not by enough that most people are willing to spend the extra 500 or so. |
