Dont Flop is deadddddddddd as fuck

not sure if many/any have followed but basically Eurgh was spending all the money they earned on Nando's and not paying Cruger or the staff/battlers

i was kind of hoping it would all be resolved because I fucked with them pretty heavy at one point and considered a few like Cruger, Oshea even Eurgh to a point etc friends of mine even though I hadn't been involved with it as heavy in recent years, admittedly, because I saw glimpses of this coming way back

anyway, like I said, not sure who cares at this point but there's some new shit from a few faces you'll prob recognise and if you fuck with UK battle rap at all, give them a sub on youtube and help build whats left of the scene

Don't Flop as we know it is dead. I'm not saying it wont be back in some form/at some point but these guys could really use your help right now:

@MMLP @Seyance @eng @the artful salopian @trapezoidal. @mr.j I forget who else even follows UK hiphop even remotely here

Amen 10-04-2017 08:33 AM

Lmao @ Lars sig - wow...

Never followed it, because the accent gets to me but I'll do it for the culture.

I know Briggzy and Danny's Jaqq are on board, you'll notice the trailer they put up on their channel shows Cruger as well and if Cruger is involved, no doubt Bagnall will handle or oversee some of the filming.

I don't know if you've heard this but here's the podcast BattleRapResume did interviewing Liam Bagnall where he explains why Don't Flop...flopped. It's a good listen.

I listened up to arouns 40 mins when they started delving into people's questions and it got a bit obscure

Very interesting points made before that

I see no way back for it other than Eurgh with a completely new background team tbh

Code Red seems to have enough of the right people involved to make a genuine go of things

Geno 10-05-2017 07:41 AM

Got u bruh!
Eminem bout to blow breath into rap battles lungs with this movie. If we dont see a revival after that then i would go heas and consider it dead. Smh. Text dead. Now this. Hiphop is dying. Nas wasnt far from the truth with his hiphop is dead record. Just a little predated he was. But he nailed it back then. HOLY FUCK. He really is NAStradamus!!! Now i need to go give that tape a listen and see what elae he predicted. Lmaooooo

Geno 10-05-2017 07:43 AM

Subbed. Will fuck with it ronight after work.
Hey @sraL.. I really need links for downloads of DOPE UK rappers albums bro. I can NEVER FIND THEM. PLEASE HELP!!!!!!! <3<3<3<3<3

Anyways though have you seen that Dizaster vs Iron Solomon? I know it's old but yeeesh

Diablo 10-06-2017 03:17 PM

I'm not a great fan of Soloman tbh, too much cornball shit for me personally but I'm not a great Diz fan either

Chill Phil 10-06-2017 03:45 PM

So, Don't Flop....flopped?

Ironic.

Soloman isn't the same as he used to be. The first battle I ever saw in the internet was soloman vs. the saurus

Started watching ever since then

Dope girl 10-06-2017 04:23 PM

I'M ON DON'T FLOP WEBSITE

word

not the first I saw tbh, but def one of the earliest

I think I started when i heard Professor Green vs Jin at the power summit, then I discovered Jump Off and wanted to get involved with the first 2vs2 WRC's

My partner dropped out last minute on the day of the UK WRC battle tryouts or I'd have been there competing. Ive followed it pretty closely ever since, knew a lot of the guys involved early on, then I followed DF when that was formed and ended up working at the same job with @MMLP so I put him on to rap battles as he was a fan of hiphop too. I'd be at work with him midweek, leave to battle on like Wednesday/Thursday night, then tell him some of the lines that went down and whether I won/lost. I took him to DF North vs South too early on and he travelled with me up and down the country to diff events I was battling at. We've been friends about 10 years now, battlings a young man's game though, I don't really have time to travel the country nowadays but I'll still get involved if there's something local happening in my city.

Solomon was good in the Scribble days. I think he beat Justice, tbh.

He was good against Madness / Shirt N Tie / Flamez and then somewhere along the lines he lost that rawness. Maybe it started when he battled E Ness. I really didn't like him in that battle. I thought Ness was styling on him.

Damn, blast from the past. The first battles I watched were probably ScribbleJam, Eyedea/Thesarus/Justice years.. Not quite sure where Smack DVD Mook and Loaded..etc fits in with the whole time line, but I was on that when it came out. Iron Solomon was killing it in the early days too, minus the recycling. Then I moved onto watching JumpOff event battles where Pro Green took the 7 wins in a row at the club night. Jin's run on BET might of come a little bit after that and then Jumpoff Street Battles started and it's all ran from there, Grindtime Now, KOTD..etc

Eurgh fucked it, always knew he would from the early days. Seems like the main guys are all behind this one though, not sure about the name Code Red tho.. Mountain Dew?
