i look at krs like i look at marley marl.

he laid the blueprints others took to the next level. marley took sampling and hip hop production to basically modern shit. custom individual drum shots, the arrangements etc. pete rock and premier and everyone basically used his methods and made way doper beats than marley ever made. but without marley they ain't shit.

without krs any number of rappers ain't shit

it ain't to say that someone else wouldn't have come along and figured out what they did for hip hop respectively. but they figured out their lanes and laid the true groundwork that everyone that gets all the props prospers from

Or idk Eminem? Some do say that Pac wasn't as lyrical when you take into consideration new complex rhyme schemes that have been morphed.

Some people just don't understand or even care to. The thing that kills me is people thinking he's just some preaching ass dude. When BDP came out, KRS was thugged out. On some military shit talking about fuckin up the police and shit. He went preachy when he went solo. Old BDP is that shit tho.
