Sorry guys. Most recent unencrypted database backup was from January.

Our (now former) host was hit with a ransomware attack. The Cry36 variant of CryptON has no decrypter available at present, so this is where we stand.

I've spent all day/night getting us to this point. PR is in worse shape, going back to a July 2015 database. My jerky site is completely wiped from a database perspective, but that's fine, as I was done with it anyway.

Thankfully the encryption they used didn't work on zip files, so I had the full most recent site backup of everything but our databases. I've moved to a more secure - and more expensive - host as well as switched us to Centos from our former Windows box. They got in through RDP because the box wasn't patched properly due to the shady cracked version of Windows 2008 Server the host had us on.

This won't happen again. If a decrypter comes out, I'll try to merge restore the past 5 months of data into this instance. For now, this is home. There may be issues as Linux and Windows are two very different things. Please report them as necessary.

A decrypter will be out eventually. They managed one for Cry9 and Cry128. This one's just a little more devious as it's multiple layers - AES and RC2.

Only a matter of time.
