I was 25 when it happened working at a newspaper in lafayette, IN

All I can remember thinking on that day when the towers fell was "those things fell too quickly"

At this point, i dont know what i actually believe
I guess i'm like a 9/11 agnostic, i dont really believe anything
Just still have a bunch of questions about it
I guess this will be the first year they teach 9/11 history to students who were not alive at the time.

I'm guessing they aren't planning on teaching them physics first...

I was a freshman in college and I was very far from home in southeast bumfuck Ohio. My mom's call woke me up at 8-ish AM to tell me a small passenger plane may have accidentally hit the WTC and to turn on the TV ASAP. Got it on just in time to see the second plane hit. Fark.com was the only reliable source of anything that day. The cell towers to the NY/NJ area would go dead shortly after that and I had no idea if anyone I knew was gone until much later that evening.

Being stranded from all your friends and family during something like that is pretty horrible.

I watched the jumpers. I heard the frantic calls on air. I watched the towers fall. I watched the live horror of the city I spent plenty of time of my youth in be brought to its knees in terror.

To the internet's collective young credit, OBL was implicated before the day was even through.

A terrible day all around.

I was walking back from church service since I went to Catholic school, as all true patricians do. Military brat, as were most of the kids in my school since it was right by a base. Kids were getting taken out of school. Military paranoia, etc. Was pretty angry I had to stay at school. Also, that my usual Simpsons rerun wasn't shown due to 24/7 coverage.

I was a pretty shit kid come to think of it.

I remember when they started removing the twin towers from every tv show that had a shot of them. Like from the Sopranos intro and shit. Was pretty ridiculous to think about now, like what was seeing them standing in the past going to do to people?

what's that have to do with anything?

also djs censoring biggie's juicy at every club/bar in ny/nj area with a record skip/bell/etc when he said "blow up like the world trade"

so I was in mr schulteisz' earth science class///prettttty fucking high I might add........was a double block so we had 2 hours or so in there an we were towards the back end of it and every1 was kindve just bullshittin talking etc he wasn't lecturing///then he stopped the class and said what had happened......literally it meant nothing to me....I didn't comprehend the gravity of the situation........he put the radio on and some listened.....I didn't.....there was a couple classes where they had the news running but most my classes were just normal....I always here people say WE WATCHED THE NEWS ALL DAY IN EVERY CLASS/// we didn't. I was in upstate NY at the time. we had off campus lunch so on lunch break I went an smoked some more....eventually I got home./..smoked again on the way home.. really still not having what happened sink in

when I got to my crib.........literally fucking floating at this point. stupid high./ I clicked on what I had hoped would be the basement w TIGGA....yet no.....was the planes hitting the tower on repeat on every single channel........this when I realized ok this is kindve a big deal......an was overwhelmed cuz of how high I was

also was the first day I heard that beanie siegel jada diss...IM BOUT TO SUN KISS LIKE A SODA .........MUAH MAKE THIS NIGGA REALL KISS THE GAME GOODBYE WOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOO

You can see in reruns when 9/11 happened because the twin tower shots disappear and all the characters start wearing FDNY gear. Friends is a really good example of this
