Aero 05-19-2016 11:16 PM

Who's MF Doom though? Sounded trash.

Very interesting video & shows rap is intricate.

PancakeBrah 05-19-2016 11:43 PM

Idk how intricate it is, Aero. I don't think any of these rappers are sitting in the studio like YO I'M THINKING OF SYNCOPATING MY DELIVERY SO THAT THE SOFT RHYMES LAND ON THE ALTERNATING 2ND AND 3RD BEATS WHEREAS MY HARD, ENDING COUPLETS ALWAYS STRIKE THE 4TH BEAT FLUSH. THOUGHTS?

different people have different, inherent styles and then millennial pixie girl makes some video that goes all post hoc ergo propter hoc on the whole shit.

So just fuck you man go die.

Liked the video very interesting

lol pretty much. But it's intricate even if it's unintentional.

kannon 05-20-2016 12:56 AM

was literally coming to netcees to post this.

uh-oh 05-20-2016 06:45 AM

Mf doom is trash

Cool vid tho, like cakes saying its more of an inherent flow rappers have rather than an intricate knowledge of misic theory/whatever

But the same could be said for all musicians, whether they sing or play an instrument, most music is written off the cuff because it sounds good. When its written out it can be studied for its intri***ies but at the time the dude was just blowing his horn to a beat.

But at least these white people are showing the ignorant the actual skill involved in riding beats

oats 05-20-2016 08:25 AM

yeah I liked this in some ways, but I couldn't help but cringe at the overwhelming caucasity of it. especially since homegirl kept saying that Blackstar came out in 2002. "Me and my favorite rapper were rapping on rap LOLZ." Though, part of me is being salty cuz I straight up sent people on forums tutorials like this on how to rhyme back in my newbie helping boarding days. still, interesting video.

Ghost1 05-20-2016 08:38 AM

Can we all agree that mf doom has no understanding of how to ride a beat what so ever tho?

OK he has multis down

Great

So does cronus

PancakeBrah 05-20-2016 09:04 AM

Agreed. I never got the whole 'Doom is GOAT' hype. He's just so off, sometimes too fast sometimes too slow. So bad that I just can't listen to al lot of his songs at all. On the few occasions he realizes he has a beat to follow he is pretty damn good but it's few and far between.

oats 05-20-2016 09:33 AM

Also gonna go ahead and sign my name to the "not a big fan of MF Doom" guestbook. Multis are not the least bit impressive to me; as bags so aptly put it: even Cronus can do them. Controlling a beat is much more difficult imo. Songs like "Shine" and "What It Is" by Pharoahe Monch are better showcases of advanced MCing than complex rhyme schemes.

kannon 05-22-2016 01:54 AM

This song always came across to me as what MF Doom would sound like if he had any charisma. particularly verse 2. but dope patterns throughout.

dull boy 05-22-2016 04:49 AM
