anybody know much about the mechanics in a ps3 ???
 

.. my brother gave his fat ps3. Somethibg wrong with it. Have had it for Bout two years and just remembered i have it. Not sure if its a ring of death thibg or an overheating thing. Apparently he was gonna try to take it apart and stopped. Bug anyhow. Anyone know how to fix these problems or anyone ever try and succesdfully repIr them? Let me know the best route to go or the best place to bring to getbfixed. Appreciate it. Im not trashi g it cause my youngest bro gave it to me so it has a little more personal value than anything else. Would like to get it goibg again and use it.

You need to either take it apart and replace the thermal paste on the cpu and gpu with arctic silver thermal paste and if that works (most likely the problem with most fat nand or nor models) you'll be good to go. If that doesn't work it will most likely need reballed. I have a real lingerie station or you can find a pc repair shop locally and tell them it needs reballed and see if they can.. an average PS3 reballed price is 80-100$... like @Knucklehead said, I use to mod and repair as well but on the ps3.. I can also jailbreak it too

right on. cant even find the joint. thought i knew where it was but apparently its dissapeared. so fuck it. will be buying a ps4
