Do you live in a bubble? The poor test.
http://www.pbs.org/newshour/making-s...bble-a-quiz-2/
Got a 64, which is about right: A first-generation middle-class person with working-class parents and average television and movie going habits. Typical: 66. |
14 lol
A second-generation (or more) upper-middle-class person who has made a point of getting out a lot But there's like 3 options it could be? Went closest to the typical score |
38, though everything should be asterisked since cost of living in Hawaii made us a lot less middle class than an equivalent on the mainland. same with shit like "have you gone fishing in the last 5 years," which I tend to think of very differently culture-wise than I think fishing is perceived elsewhere. fun test, though.
http://www.civilbeat.com/2015/07/liv...earn-a-living/ for reference, though the thesis of the test is still pretty accurate; I think geographically more than anything I am insulated from whatever mainstream American culture is. |
41; closest to "11–80: A first-generation upper-middle-class person with middle-class parents. Typical: 33."
Which is pretty accurate. My dad is an auto mechanic. My mom ran a day-care from home when I was younger, but is basically a stay at home mom. I made more money than them this last year, and I just got a promotion in October which will make me even more money this year. Which is good, cause I'm 30 now, and I should be making grown up money. |

Lol such a new middle thing to say

55. Lold at the jimmie johnson question and the fishing question
Im guessing mass market domestic beer means budweiser too. |
30 something I forget
Same bracket as kanon |
Yeah see questions were clearly leaning too if you like beer and fishing you're poor
While I like neither bud light or Nascar (number 3 never forget) I know a lot of people that make half a mill a year that live in the country and emulate the life of a redneck while they ponder what they'll do with their 4th extra bedroom |

And you clearly don't know what upper is in 2016 if you think I fit there. Maybe on the lower rung of it. |
Further: everyone here has a boat. old South level poor people have boats. Skiffs, John boats, pontoons, etc.
|
I scored a 27. Weird survey.
|
If diode is not upper middle class then I am lower class an I always considered myself middle class....I mean......poverty is lower class....is it not?
|
this survey doesn't take a lot of important things into account, but to be fair it's a 25 question survey meant to generalize. Obviously, making 50k a year in Kentucky is a whole different quality of life than 50K a year in Palo Alto. Also, my TV and movie watching habits have drastically changed for me now that I live in a place that has cold weather; doesn't speak to a difference in class.
I thought it was interesting that it didn't ask about number of parents you were raised by/number of working parents. Those seem more telling to me than "do you like Budweiser?" |

I was under the assumption middle class was living comfy. Like 50k a year. By todays standards. But again cost of living and shit in different places is so outrageous it makes no sense. Im pretty sure diode works from home too, and just flies in to HQ a few times a year or some shit. So he could live anywhere. For some reason i think diode makes 250. Could be way off i dunno why that numbers in my head. But thats ridiculous money here. Nigga you could buy a private lake and build a mansion on it money. Or move to any coastal state with a low cost of living, ill never understand moving somewhere where its more expensive. Your choosing to be middle class which is weird. I mean everyone isnt a weirdo like me, they like to actually leave their house, so i get it from that perspective. If it was me tho id live in bumfuck missouri or some shit and just buy everything i ever wanted and only go to town to fill my fridge with beer and pizza rolls |
Stuck on that question because I don't know if Yuengling and Sam Adams are mass Market... They don't count right?

Thanks for reassuring me my beer isn't uh oh tier (<3 uhoh) |
I live in a bubble called the UK so I can't join in.
I am, as we call it here, working class. Not lower class, not middle class. Certainly not upper class lol it basically means I make enough to survive but not much else. |
