So I'm in the middle of my sporadic watching of Raw

Some things are confusing because I don't watch all the time, but Shane OMac fighting Undertaker in Hell In A Cell at Wrestlemania? Have I been transported to 2001? Also, Bray Wyatt one of the best promo guys I've ever seen, in any era, he's a good character, I like him. Dean Ambrose is super good on the mic, also a good character, I like him too. Mostly hate all the other new guys. Finally, how someone as talented as Dolph Ziggler still wrestling bums?

I have much to say about this.

I only watch around between the Rumble and Mania - basically a lot of their biggest stars of the past year are out - bringing back Shane was meant to add some star power to a depleted line up - no Daniel Bryan, no John Cena, no Seth Rollins. Plus, the fans go fucking nuts for any McMahon family drama. Bray Wyatt is underutilized for sure - they had him cut a pretaped promo this week because last week he did it live and the retarded fans did the "WHAT?!" chant the whole time. Honestly, that's the most brutal shit in the history of wrestling and I'm pretty sure I'll never watch regularly because of that. It ruins every fucking promo. Ambrose is good and people love him, but they're pushing Roman Reigns because he has a better look. Dolph Ziggler is good. The only real reason to watch these days is New Day and Kevin Owens. Fucking hilarious heels.

Owens troll heel game is God tier.

My biggest problem with the show these days, I think, is that it feels scripted...I know it has always been scripted, but it didn't use to FEEL like it was, nowadays it does.

Yea, I agree. My biggest problem with it is that so few superstars actually SELL their characters. Back in the day, from Flair to Hogan to Macho Man to Razor to Shawn Michaels - guys owned their personas and amplified the bravado every time they were on camera. Now, the only guys that sell well are Ambrose, New Day and Owens - everyone else feels like someone playing a character. If they went all in and fuckin screamed in all their promos and engaged the crowd in an over the top way, people would buy in more. What's the hardest part is that it seems like a skill that can be coached, but they've just neglected it.

Haven't seen much of Owens, will look him up.

I'm guessing they speak English? Or are you secretly a fluent Japanese speaker? lol

I knew it was big in Japan, never thought about watching, will give it a shot, thanks.

Owens is the best of the new school and old school mix. He has the psychological aspect down too.

Wrestling is pure psychology btw.

agreed

it's like.. they know we know, so they no longer put effort into making it seem as thought it isn't.. but that was kind of the fun of it.. the suspension of disbelief, y'know?
