This is hardly news. Anyone who was paying attention knew the Chinese were inflating their economic numbers. They have been doing this forever. One of the perks of a centrally run communist government where you control all of the resources and accounting is that when you post economic projections there is noone there to dispute them.

Remains to be seen what the impact of this will be. Clearly whenever there is an economic crisis in one of the worlds largest economies there are going to be negative repercussions. But there is a long way to go until societal collapse into a dystopian post-apocalyptic wasteland.

But hey, I guess it's not quite Monday yet... right?
