@Nigma, let me know if this or isn't cool by you. Just trying to get you a matchup. If someone posts & you don't want it to go down, let me know here & it will not count towards league records.

Restrictions:

-you cannot already have a battle this week in the AOWL
-you must be done by 10:15 AM EST
-first to post a *legitimate* and complete verse in that thread gets the matchup
-no firstposting and editing in
-if you don't want to compete next week, sign out in the Sign in/out thread
-all AOWL rules & regs apply

I'd say maybe an hour from when they post itt could be better? cuz someone might want to do it, but might not see it for a while.

The idea was to open no-shows up to promote competition while keeping the league as close to its original schedule as possible.

The opportunity is meant to be fair for those already enrolled in the league, not for those not in it yet.

Making the deadline relative to when people "claim" the matchup would be advantageous for any competitor coming in, because they could survey the verse and write against it at their leisure. And it would set the schedule back.

People generally write against the deadline for topical battles, so a fixed deadline & open competition means 'write your best as quickly as possible because if you want it your record is on the line', so this seems to be the fairest method to me.
