the first law trilogy
was pretty ill. thanks whoever recommended it. spoilers i guess to anyone who hasnt read it but might, although whoever probably would already has.
it kept me interested and turning pages, even though it had all the elements of fantasy i've come to hate, stuff like the hero's living, somehow on the precipice of death and then out of nowhere they are saved, and all that malarkey. and these books were FILLED with that. also you know the whole people becoming shit. like when bayaz is constantly trying to advise jezal about kings and shit i'm like word i see it coming he's gonna be king and then what do you know boom. but i enjoyed the fact that no one got a happy ending. except maybe ferro? she was always miserable so the misery of the demons in her head is a fair trade off for being a powerful demon capable of at least attempting revenge. if she is anything like the makers daughter, who forced bayaz to flee/and seal her up without killing her, she might have a shot at khalul. but who knows. but word i was hoping for the bloody nines death at the end. or at least one more go of him going FULL bloody nine, and killing everyone in a 10 mile radius. instead he jumps out a window and takes another impossible fall that he should never survive but probably will. but word all in all i enjoyed it. george martin should take a page out of this dudes books as far as pacing, and getting to the fucking point. but word i guess theres a couple other books out i don't know what they are yet tho, but it would be cool if he did another set of books from khaluls perspective and make him like bayaz like he's a good dude when in fact he's just a power hungry wizard but word long post 99 percent of you won't care about. |
POOR COUNTRIES DON'T HAVE NOTHING SO I Give them donation people hurting I rescuer them

word i liked them all too. didn't enjoy the predictability of them tho especially on jezal's part. logan was definitely my favourite

Ur welcome, read the post trilogy books as well they're just as good. Best served cold, The heroes, and Red country.
Next should def be Brandon Sanderson's Stormlight Archive or Brent weeks' the Night Angel trilogy. Or if u want something with a little meat on it get Steven Erickson's malazan book of the fallen. U cant miss with any of those bro. |

yea i'll probably finish out the abercrombie books before moving on to malazan
that third book was ill tho, i've never read one as packed full of shit happening. when they had THE BLOODY NINE fight the feared like 1/3 of the way in i was like wtf. cuz i felt like that was pretty much the main storyline i cared about, figured it would be put off till the end but still mad shit popped off solid books. |
Word they were dope. The heroes was my fave follow up book, its follows the war in the north after black Dow takes over. Red country is good cause it brings back a beloved character, no spoilers. And Best Served Cold is dope cause it follows Caul Shivers as he goes down south and hooks up with Murcatto.
@Orc, hells yea. |
