I was in shock...


I couldn't return due to my strong connection
I fought obsession, and constantly dodged attention
no comprehension, a lost assessment..
life's funny, but death seems like an awkward lesson
Her eyes lit up as her legs lost progression
she would stop a second, a minute, a hour passed
I would give anything to turn over the hourglass
to give her her power back my thoughts & threats
searchin' for answers as the questions fog my head
the plot is fresh but my understanding is faux pas instead
the moment is gone, dreams lay across the bed
and the sequences that follow are oft misled...
Amazing meadows that could change the tempo
a raging stream that soothed as the waves would echo
morning dew on Iris petals, pain my eyes resembled
in that moment I didn't understand but I'd attempt to
& to my surprise I left you...I cried but never meant to
as I dried, I nestled myself deep into my pillow...
trying my best to relax, closing the curtains to my window
"What is 'death'..." I stayed awake for hours on end
placing blame on 'death' as it devoured my friend
I could only watch, that's when the rain showers begin
we are both stuck in a swamp of sadness
I scream "FIGHT!" when you lost advantage
but when you lost..my childhood was exposed & took
it's a never-ending story so I walked away & closed the book...
