DON'T STARE AT THE MOON
 

We all want illusions of control. The feeling of truth in what we know,
but betrayal turns to fail-ure and a ruining of hope
when what you believe is so becomes a lucid dream. You woke
to you asleep. Now no human being can prove they mean what's spoken.
Her promises aren't honest. They may mean well, but she sells
preposterous misconduct to everything that we've felt.
Forever. Undying. Eternal. I'LL NEVER LEAVE YOU.
Save it. This moment's all we'll know and lies needn't be true.
My eyes read as see-through, yet I keep a piece to
cope and deny. There's no going through life this re-al.
So coil around my finger. Succumb to realities I weave
in your galaxy of think. I wear this royal crown, as leader.
Dating pool shark. Smart with a razor toothed heart.
Sometimes I play the fool. 'cause being this way is too hard.
Tried to taste the ruse. Wanted to erase my views.
Everyday, abused my brain with booze I drank. I'd brood
trying to persuade the truth to vacate. I used
people as shields. Built a life over graves.
But the truth haunted me, and she could see the lie. Open faced.
I'm a peculiar brand of what you might call a monster.
I've witnessed senses. I've viewed the cause of conscience.
It's the idea of ourselves being an ideal of a shell.
I feel I'm in hell. I deal with myself as well as I feel I can help.
I'm mourning a loss of innocence most don't know existed.

this is different from the other piece you dropped which I put mytwist on 'cause it seemed fun
I think what really stuck out for me was how you wrote it out
It reads different from other pieces and has a certain idk mystique to it
