ok so I dig this game
I been playing for a couple days. I'm level 9 and about to scrape some coin together to pay this dude to take me on his ship
here's the deal tho
I got all these plans for dope shit, like level 37 armor and shit
how the fuck do I level up faster? I went back to the first map area and walked around clearing all the question marks and shit, I guess I could do that with velen too.
should I be doing more shit off the notice boards in all the towns? I haven't really fucked with any of that, but I'm trying to level up faster than this

am i gonna have to do the alchemy and shit tho and magic signs or can i just hack my way through this pretty shit

you can def hack your way through it
just get dope swords and put runes on em

U don't neccesarily need signs but I imagine taking on sum of the more fiercer creatures would be a fucking Trial and error headache slug fest w/ out them

Tbh they made the system more accessible in 3

I only ever tried to use it on this gollum nigga that was right past a place of power for the purple joint but he just busted right through it so I was like fuck this weak ass sign

yrden = makes wraiths and other 'magic'/spectre monsters weak. elementa too
quen = shield that also heals any elemental damage. poison, fire etc
axii = mind control
aard = force push
igni = fucking fire

but to answer OP the witcher contracts from the notice boards give 250-300 xp. story quests give you a lot too. + harder (red) quests will give you a lot more xp

MAN i'll eventually learn and partake in all the intra***ies of the game, its overwhelming right out of the gate tho. all these rpg's and shit have there own systems of gathering items and resources and then figuring out what you use to actually make something you can use, its overwhelming lol

and this game doesnt help much because the items/inventory screen is basic looking

but like i said i'll get into it eventually. it took me forever in skyrim before i actually started messing with blacksmithing/alchemy/enchanting and shit and even then i kind of did it just to get some free levels, not really to enhance my dude

but in the 30 minutes where i basically did nothing but play a game of gwent and begin riding out of the first village to question some NILFGARRDians or whatever about yennifer i was seeing all kinds of herbs and shit along the way

so im thinking yo i should pick and horde all these, but the other voice in my head is like fuck that shit

then the cavs game came on lol.

graphically its pretty insane and i'm pretty sure its GIANT

i mean i got like a low-mid tier graphics card on my pc i think, and running it "optimized for performance" or whatever turns alot of options off, and its still one of the best looking games i've played

This game is like a Mexican soap opera, it'll all make sense tomorrow, especially if you learn Spanish.


When you start out, you basically "make your way". You'll figure out that there's really no "things get increasingly harder" aspect like you find in almost all other games. You can be walking along wiping out lvl 3 wolves and then walk up on some lvl 17 wraith that rapes your soul. So you have got to explore and retreat a lot, then come back stronger and with better strategy.

You'll find quite a few one-hitter-quitter enemies who will straight fuck ur shit up early in the game.

The good thing is you can leave areas and come back to them later. This game is real intuitive, just try playing it and it'll all come to you. There are so many different things to try and tons of ways to build yourself up. Learn to use the oils and the signs... go to the wheel and the table and power your gear up before fights, learn to repair your gear with kits. Look at the damage boosts on your armor.

It's a game of strategy and part of the fun is figuring out strategies for yourself. I'm in no hurry to "finish" the game, I want to experience it.
