Knob Creek has a bit more alcohol, and I can tell. I make questionable decisions in regards to my general well being while drinking Knob Creek.

If you like Maker's Mark, you should try Four Roses (the standard with the yellow label). It's less than half the cost and great for the price. It's similar to Maker's Mark, though not quite as smooth.

But if you want to try a great Scotch in the same price range (maybe slightly higher) as Maker's Mark, go with Deanston. It's very smooth and has great taste. It's not as complex as the best Scotch, but I haven't had any other in that price range that I enjoyed nearly as much.

Jameson is built for and by Irish Catholics. It's ridiculously smooth, with or without ice, but it's a little boring if you're having one or two drinks while watching TV on a Tuesday. It's like tequila: Best drank in large quantities.
