i'm really trying to figure out religion
 

like i feel i'm not stupid enough to be religious. but then i feel i'm being too harsh on those religious. they probably aren't stupid. they are just ignorant of certain facts.

but then i think like, there are people who know alot of the facts but still choose to be religious. and thats where i'm like, i dunno, i can't figure out if they are stubborn, just stuck in there ways, or if they are actually stupid.

also i was thinking too. jews and the messiah. the jews claim jesus wasn't the messiah. they still wait for the messiah to come and save them. but yo, what if religions are real for the sake of this line of stoned sunday morning reasoning. and jesus WAS the jewish messiah. as i've detailed before he was crucified between two thieves, and they wrote king of the jews above him to let everyone know what would happen right. well as i've detailed before, the jewish word for thief translated to greek is bandit, and bandits were REBELS in the roman vernacular. so jesus the king of jews was crucified between two other rebels with the designation of KING.

so my theory obviously is he was rallying the jews to get the roman occupation out of palestine, he was the jewish messiah, the son of god sent to get the pagans out of the holy land and he would unite the jews blah blah. he gathered a following/army, he was beloved by the common jew, and hated by the jews in power because the jews in power were in the pockets of the roman overlords

and he failed. he was caught, scourged and crucified.

so if there is any god to believe in, it would be MARS, or JUPITER. i guess it would be jupiter since it wasn't a battle fought and jupiter was zeus basically the god of all roman gods. jupiter won.

jupiter and his followers quelled the rebellion of the jew god. sons of jupiter killed the son of yahweh or whatever.

yet people aren't roman pagans anymore. somehow they worship a loser.

Religious people aren't stupid. Well, some of them are. The percentage of stupid religious people is the same as the percentage of stupid atheists. Someone believing in religion does not make them any less intelligent than someone who doesn't. That's the facts.

The only reason you give any credence to those Roman gods is because they aren't the current major religious force. we shouldn't believe in any gods. we shouldnt also believe there isnt "god(s)"

the main reason being is no one knows. we all begin on the fence of sanity, the majority of people fall off at one time or another in their lives. one side is religion. the other is atheism. the middle, on the fence is sanity. now the problem is, the fence is old. it leans to one side. its basically falling into religion.

so when you fall from sanity to religion its much harder to get back on the fence. in atheist land its a smooth slope to sanity. in religion its like an upside down climb back onto the fence

I can completely understand why it is comforting to believe if you are good in this life you will be rewarded for eternity. That would be pretty cool. I get why it helps people.

JOKES aside, I grew up in the church, and while I don't personally subscribe to theology of any sort much, I have little tolerance for religion bashers. I've seen countless examples of people who made huge positive life improvements because of their church involvement. I tend to get really annoyed and contrarian around atheists. that's just me, though.

as far as the CHURCH we all know its a corrupt fucked up system, but church itself in principle isnt a bad thing. its full of dummies sure, but they are all positive and sit through lectures in nice clothes and then everyone shakes hands and spreads positivity while filling the pockets of con artists.
