I stare at the ones in the back of walmart a lot

what I assume is vizio lg and Samsung are the best bang for your buck but I don't know ANYTHING

also I was thinkin about gettin a ROKU cuz they're cheap and shit & I'm on my 7th free trial for netflix.

but I don't know anything about apple tv or amazon tv or whatever the fuck else there is

what do you have / recommend

I'm lookin in the 30-40" range

Do you own a laptop with an hdmi output?

Inno 03-03-2015 04:40 PM

chrome cast is the best way to go.

huluplus and netflix is all you need

boof 03-03-2015 04:44 PM

yeah but the tv don't

yet

is it basically pointless once I get a flat screen tho?

boof 03-03-2015 04:45 PM

Ignore the others

there is 0 point in any of the streaming devices if you have a laptop and want a slim budget

if you like using it while watching things buy one with a broken screen on ebay, you won't need the screen so it works fine

get a wireless mouse for 5-15 bucks and use the on screen keyboard

this is a good time of year for tv's since the new models are coming up soon

go to a shitty store with barely any foot traffic (sears, jc pennys, etc) that has an electronics department

buy a closeout/discontinued joint

has the warranty still

it'll be like 200 for a 350 tv

samsung or vizio is your best bet but seiki is a decent crap brand

yo talk to me about this

my laptops sound output is low as fuck, like thats how its meant to be, i have no speaker for it

i bought some wire that can put up whatevers on my laptop, to the TV - but the sound still the same as if it were on the laptop (madd low)

what cable i need to let the TV play sound at its normal capacity even though its being played through the laptop?

i'm too G to be up on that geeksquad tip

You're pretty fucking stupid tbc

you got balls calling me stupid after telling someone to use their fucking broken laptop as a TV looooool

~RustyGunZ~ 03-04-2015 10:42 PM

you can buy them shits on craigslist for pennys

you can use it with a tv as the screen and not have to use your actual laptop
@Strikta has to have a friend or 5 that does this

Split Eight 03-04-2015 10:48 PM

Using your mouse/ keyboard to navigate Netflix, Hulu, shady torrents and streamed shit on your TV while either uncomfortably far away on the couch or kneeling at your TV stand, while dealing with the myriad problems that come with a broken 2011 laptop & a Windows operating system will have you wishing you sprung for a $40 Roku in no time

Car suggestion: buy a burnt husk of a Ford Taurus as a salvage title and have your trained ducks pull it like a rickshaw

~RustyGunZ~ 03-04-2015 11:03 PM

He said he is on his 7th trial of Netflix so I'm assuming he isn't willing to pay for any streaming service

Therefore pirating on a laptop would give the most satisfaction
