A piece I read out loud my last day in detox
 

This goes to
the off the wall, blacked-out falls of rowdy mobs who cants stop drinkin alcohol

This goes to
the dopiest, mopiest, lowest shits who only cope with opiates

This goes to
the mean and hungry energizer bunnies with methamphetamines and other speeds, deplete of any money

Like the rest of us with feeings tucked and hidden away
"who gives a fuck?" is what we say, we know we'll fix it someday
Some on the cusp of forever livin in graves cuz that last one's a MUST is what we'd all say
Cuz we can't go a day without our souls startin to gray and our brains wither away, begging us for a break
But all we can do is empty out our banks over a taste and continue to fade?

Most of us couldn't identify where this obstacle lived
Back when we were scared to fit in with the popular kids
Or maybe even further back to the jokes on our popsicle sticks
Who cares where it started, let's just get offa this shit

We contemplated sketchy spots for our recharge
But it's another mistake when faced with police cars
They'll take you completely wasted off to detox
Before you know it, you'll be asked to take the laces out your Reebox

Hours go by

And every ache in your body marks the end of this party
You're not sleeping in the evenings or interested in meetings
All you want is that bittersweet taste
The same exact shit that got you here in the first place
Smokes and groups, then meds and vitals-- But not in that order
This frozen food is only meant for survival, dont look at it as torture
But some of these groups can actually help
You'll meet 50-year olds who still lie to themselves
There was this man without a plan, claimed he's only "social-drinking"
Yellow wrist-band on his hand, I'd say that's bullshit-thinking
Oh, and that tech that yells every morning at 5:45
You know, when we're snoring, the one you'd stab in the eye
Sometimes you'll wanna sneak a guy to the girls' side, initially to cuddle
Just try to keep in mind that there's a gateway drug to everything and that one can be trouble

I'm not here to preach, I just needed to share sudden epiphany
Despite that I'm the epitome of drugging and self-pitying
So to all of you, I say goodbye, and with much love
You think I could've written this if I had taken a drug?

So what, for one day I ripped the spleen from the dopefiend
You're probably mindblown!
But I wrote this when I only had 4 days clean so what the hell do I know

Congrats, good work for detoxing and for the writing. I have one in the same vein, but it's kinda the opposite message. Don't wanna kill your vibe though, I understand the struggle and appreciate this.
