Question for you all: How do you feel about removing extensions?
 

The AOWL just doesn't have extensions and No-shows are a non-issue there. The mods are considering getting rid of them and want to hear what you think, a vote on the poll and maybe a quick response as to why you feel that way would be hugely appreciated.

They just hold up the swing of things. League would run a lot smoother without them. A week is long enough to write 10 lines. Even if they spend a day a bar, still more then enough time. I say do away with EXT. If people can not make deadlines, they shouldn't sign up, plain and simple.

I voted yes but I would also be fine with a 12 hr extension.

12 hour extensions are a waste

I think you should get rid of them in all honesty

12 hours for extenuating circumstances should be more than enough for an extension.

Anything more than that means you spent the last week procrastinating and will no-show anyways.

I'm fine with no extensions with the exception of a 12 hr buffer if you PM a mod and explain why you need it. Excuses like "I had to work", "I have a life," or "I was busy" wouldn't qualify. It would have to be family or illness-related or something that constitutes an emergecy.

I created the no extension rule for the AOWL at the beginning of season 2. If u posted even a minute late u lose. It has worked wonderfully on every level.

It's really like giving the entire league a built in extension if you make the verses due on Fridays now. And it gives people the ability to stay up late to write if they have to. Weekends are for watching football and voting. Battles close Sunday night at midnight west coast time. New match ups posted on Monday. This is what has worked for the topical side of the site and I think it could work in the NBL

I think if anything give ppl a certain amount they can use in the reg season, & maybe just 1 in the playoffs or something along those lines.

i voted limited # per season. if you wrote 1/2 your verse and then something fun / cool / important comes up an extension is better then a no show imo but I will go get drunk or get laid or do almost anything over work on a verse tbh. I basically back in this because I started a new salary job and its slow as fuck at work. I dont like the idea of battles due Friday night thats wack. Friday night is real life time

Limit three per season.

There will b more upsets no doubt. A lot off rushed verses too but we would adapt.

Nothing worse than letting your verse sit up there and your opponent, taking additional time and knowing what they have to beat. It makes me feel like posting a day or two early is pointless.

Extensions are a huge advantage and personally i wouldve won this week if they didnt exist. I thought my opponent wasnt showing, so i keyed I also want to get votes out of the way and thurs night im like limited cause of exts.

AOWL runs like clockwork, much better than any battle league I've ever been in tbh.
I'd copy the fuck outta their format.
