also i just seen a weird video on facebook of some politician dude reading some "bill"? or whatever politicians read, about securing funding to train troops to handle some terrorist shit, it sounded like it was chemical/nuke type things but every other word was "classified" as he read it, and he said something along the lines of "giant inhuman creatures classified blah blah classified" and i was like uhhh

The big thing is receiving benefits when a partner dies and the legal status of children (only one could legally be the parent and if they die, the kids can go to foster care even with a surviving parent) - those were the cases that went all the way to the Supreme Court
