the riverside is the antidote to the city life i been handed though
ain’t a thing I find as relaxing bro as fishing while I be having smokes
sit and smile as we cast a pole and sunshine delivers
feet up by the river got me hook line and sinker
we unwind in similar ways, just me and my reel
never used to see the appeal behind it if I’m keeping it real
but nowadays I’m deep in a field bank of bullrushes and thorns
looking for more than just relaxation. it’s got my looking toward
this puddle of water for self reflection beyond the common gaze
i see the promise of today
not the one that got away
