No. Off the top of the head:

Rakim
Chuck D
KRS-One
Big Daddy Kane
Kool G Rap
Kool Keith
Slick Rick
Nas
Jay Z
Notorious B.I.G.
Big L
Big Pun
Ghostface Killah
Raekwon
GZA
Method Man
(Insert your other favorite Wu-Tang member[s] here)
Prodigy
Busta Rhymes
Q-Tip
Posdnous
Mos Def
Talib Kweli
Pharaohe Monch
MF DOOM
Cam'Ron
Jadakiss
Sean Price
Killah Priest

I stayed away from most underground guys and all the really old-school types. And I'm sure I'm missing some big ones.

El Muffin 10-03-2014 02:47 PM

PancakeBrah 10-03-2014 02:51 PM

Blancos the worst opinion

Blanco Bishop 10-03-2014 02:53 PM

Nore has just as many hits if nit more than any of those cats except maybe jay.

Certain 10-03-2014 02:53 PM

As far as Big Pun, I rank him as one of the five most talented rappers ever: Andre 3000, Eminem, Notorious B.I.G., Pharoahe Monch and Big Pun. But out of all of those guys, he did the least. Two albums (the second of which is a bit dubious and uneven) and some guest appearances isn't enough to put a guy ahead of people like Ghostface Killah for me.

Certain 10-03-2014 02:54 PM

Did this guy just say Noreaga has more hits than Method Man?

Blanco Bishop 10-03-2014 02:58 PM

Meths hits didn't all go nationwide like nore.

Maybe he is a gawd in ny , understandably, but u bugging.

El Muffin 10-03-2014 02:59 PM

Nore had that one album that went dbl plat rigjt?

Back with neptunes production

Certain 10-03-2014 03:22 PM

Certain 10-03-2014 05:04 PM

I know how big Noreaga was. He was not bigger than Method Man.

He also was not and is not better than Sean Price.

He's very good, and I particularly love The War Report. But take my list and tell me Noreaga is in the top 15 New York rappers ever.

uh-oh 10-03-2014 05:11 PM

neither are top 15. I let people argue pun but hes top 50 MAYBE

Certain 10-03-2014 05:13 PM

I mean, does any non-Blanco Bishop seriously think Noreaga is better than Prodigy or Ghostface?

uh-oh 10-03-2014 06:12 PM

he's even with ghostface to me

but i never got on the ghostface bandwagon so there is that

he's definately not as good as prodigy or meth tho

NYCSPITZ 10-03-2014 06:14 PM

We're discussing greatest ever. It's a mix of things: mainstream appeal, street credibility, critical acclaim, consistency, longevity, etc.

I could buy that if we're talking about the 1990s. He aged better than any of them, though. He's been way more relevant in the last decade.
