Do voting rings exist in text battles?

I always notice people mention how, lets say, a Destroyer votes for a Bags and vice versa (no shade intended, just an example).

I'm not really that familiar with the goings on in the text, but do these voting rings happen?

I can't see why they would as the two don't know each other outside of this forum any more than, say, I know either of them. I'm in a crew with fucking @TeckNeek but you don't see me voting for his garbage text battles

Through every generation and on every rap forum people have an implicit bias toward people they like even if they claim they don't. That's not to say they'll always vote for someone, but if a battle ends up being damn near a tie between person A and person B, they'll vote for the person they like more and/or the person they've historically felt was a better writer.

As for voting rings, I'm sure they exist in some capacity but they're not as formal as "Hey vote for me, and I'll vote for you". It's more of an unspoken reciprocity between people who are cohesive. The politics of it all is why I don't really think wins and losses mean anything. I just battle because I enjoy it.

p.s. looking to join a voting ring, pm me

lmao I never vote on battles i'm mentioned in and i always try to steer clear of voting on battles MMLP or Flow are involved with, they stay clear of mine too if possible

its quite easy to not enter into the politics of it all to me

Voting buddies do exist but I don't participate.

My only exception is that I wont vote against @Dominate. If I felt he lost the battle I just wont vote.

Diablo 07-26-2019 10:52 AM

lmao is it somehow less gay to not vote against a friend you think lost, than it is to vote for a friend you think won?

apples/oranges to me tbh

Witty 07-26-2019 02:48 PM

Everyone has always spoken about voting rings...I've never been privy to one, if I was I would expose it immediately tbh. Maybe people know that and don't involve me. Idk. Either way I think we are all much too old for that malarkey now.

Hush 07-26-2019 07:39 PM

Shut up lol

Dope girl 07-26-2019 07:50 PM

Text get old let's audio

I've been thinking about jumping in to start voting on whatever causes the most controversy. If a match is 3-4 I'll make it 4-4 regardless who I thought were better personally. If a text battle is 4-3 and the chat has been going crazy about how bad/unfair the votes are I'll make it 5-3 as text battles is what I know the least about. Just a thought, what y'all think?

sral 07-27-2019 03:38 AM

LMAO SOMEONE I WONT NAME VOTED AGAINST ME ON TWO DIFF ACCOUNTS LAST ROUND

HILARIOUS

BUT THE SALT IS REAL OUT CHEA

Sinacog 07-27-2019 09:21 AM

Text rings in rap forums don't exist. They never have.

TeckNeek 08-11-2019 08:39 PM

Big Bolo 08-13-2019 12:49 PM

The key is to vote on other battles too...you know to not raise suspicion...

White LGI 08-13-2019 05:44 PM

Are y'all talking about this in 2019?
