9/11 post

I was 24 years old working on a newspaper. we were getting ready to put the final version to print and of course had to revamp the entire thing after that morning. All I really remember from that day as I was watching the events unfold that I immediately thought, 'wow, those towers came down too fast.' That was my initial reaction based on nothing more but gut feeling, but I'll be damned if I don't still have that feeling in my gut, 14 years later.

I remember it like it was today.

I was in class, learning about how jet fuel can't melt steel beams

10th grade earth science. Teacher stopped class an said about it an I didn't even realize wat it meant until the day went on. Wen I got home an it was literally on every single tv channel I realized oh shit this is kindve a big deal.

in 8th grade, mom woke me up at like 4am, saw the second plane fly into the tower on TV, was pissed cuz I was super tired and confused.

I'll say this though, I definitely look back on that moment as an Edenic apple. I don't think I realized how little my world was until then, or that there was even much of a world outside what I knew for that matter.

Saw the second plane hit, was 11, didn't know wtf was happening but could tell it was a big deal, it did kinda feel like that world was changing in front of my eyes...never felt like that before or since tbh.

Hush 09-11-2015 01:15 PM

I was 16

Destroyer 09-11-2015 01:20 PM

I was in 9th grade Earth Science lol. Exactly the same reaction I had also. Turns out my uncle was in the 2nd building on like, the 90th floor. Thankfully he made it out. Thing about the TT's were, after each set of 10 floors you had to cross the building to reach the other flights of stairs. Crazy.
