Poetry tournament; A new format (NEVER free form) each week (haiku, Sonnet, Acrostic etc.)

Short Story Tournament. 500 words max. Don't know if it'll get any popularity, but I'd join it.

16 man pinkslip tournament. As if there's not enough bullshit pinkslip matches being thrown around to begin with that kills activity we should definitely get this shit going.

An eight man audio tourney. Its like the topical version of the audio battle tourney we had. Words at war or something.


This one would have a set instrumental for each battle and the goal is for each participant to write and rap a better verse than their opponent. I dont know what to call it. Im not good at names

Also we can try just open tourney (going back to my audio tourney idea) where everyone gets the same instrumental but the only the top 2 versses or something get points, and this goes on until those with the most points have a final match

I was considering a tag key style tourney tbh

I was kind of looking forward to that UW... But you seen a lot of newcomers sign up. Maybe you should have a newcomer tourney (first 16 to register) and do that. I'm sure you would get people if sign up wasn't days long/weeks. Votes would have to give advice so we can see what we need to work on.

Celebrity Battle Tournament. Everyone is assigned a celebrity. You're battling the celebrity your opponent was assigned while playing the role of the celebrity you were assigned.

Swag and Flow Challenge tournament. This idea follows the writing challenge league's construct. Every verse is swag and flow, nothing more, except that there's a twist. Maybe it's a theme you have to construct your swag and flow around (superheroes or NBA players) or maybe it's a set of words or letters that need to be incorporated.

Word at the last 2. The celebrity one is basically an alias tourney. Just a specific edition like alias 3 was.

I wouldn't mind running a small newb tourney tbh.

I don't know what you mean by that. But the key would be picking really divisive celebrities, like Richard Simmons and Paris Hilton and Courtney Love. I think that could spark some real creativity out of the battlers, unlike most of the shit I see now.

Rb had some good audio leagues/tournaments when it wa still kicking tbh

I remember listening to those GRB finals with warbux, ill Chris, DZK, Zarbon Spitwell, NapsNDreds, Point Game, Laws, Nimrod, etc. That's how an audio tournament should be.

Audio's expensive. If you want a good tournament, you need to offer $500 and have proven your site will pay through a bunch of paying text tournaments.
