I want your ideas and opinions on what can make this site attract more people, more welcome, get more writers and competition here. I have been to a good amount of other sites and theres still a good amount of text cats writing there just split up and there is plenty of oppertunity to get a good bit more competition here


so I come to the people that make this site work,,,the users

give your ideas and opinions and maybe we can find something to expand and have a wider variety of competition


what do you think about a front page?


as i said nothing is certain and its all ideas I am just looking for opinions so dont come in saying "thats dumb or stupid as fuck" because yeah

I hate meeting new people.

Also, I came here because some of you guys invaded RIA and I became intrigued.

I was not aware of other sites.

So basically, we should all just troll the shit out of every active to semi-active forum. Worked for me.

i remember i found old NC thru one of those attached sites like textbattles.com or whatever... something that grabs keywords out of search engines would be big for grabbing new or older people

we should be on the first page of google results for 'text battles', and if a front page could do that its prolly worth exploring. or get something like that textbattles.com site

I like that there is no homepage. Homepages generally are useless.

One thing I can't quite understand is why "Spot Light" right now features a crew battle that hasn't started instead of a big tournament that is in the finals.

I also think, as someone else brought up, the picture sizes need to be standardized, both in posts and in avatars. That would clean up the site a bit.

Also I should get paid for posting.

my thing about a front page is you can make it about the writing on the site....i hate when front pages is about other shit but about site shit it may make people want to achieve that...u write...u write dope it will be showcased and etc

I think the color scheme is a bit boring. The banner could be updated. Maybe make a VIP group to those who refer "x" amount of people, to get people to get Netcees' name out. Organize the forum - meaning look over the sub-sections to make sure they look structured and maybe add/delete some sub sections.


I got a couple other ideas, but all in all, it's this is purely text battling, you can't expect a bunch of people to be interested in it.

But, that wouldn't really get more posters, it would just make the forum look like trolls/desperate.

Maybe there should be a 'Main Page' when you first type the url....Like spotlighting the current champions and info on up and comers, and maybe have a small amount of hip hop news at the bottom....Also I think the site needs a more modern look something more sleek...I might have more ideas later

One (non-rap) message board I frequent has photos set to automatically resize to 400 pixels wide, then you can click for the full-size image.

History suggests otherwise.

I agree with this somewhat....Let them get here and get a feel for shit before you go in on them....That way they are settled in and some shit talking wont scare them off same day

There are multiple color choices in the bottom left of the site. I use the orange soda skin.

Let's definitely not have a video chat.

problem with trolling is we also get those threads that wont die with guys like lyrical lawrence and that lyrical assault day lmaoo

there's got to be a better way to siphon membership if thats what we're looking for, this site is definitely one of the best to be on and has its own draws between the competition and opportunities to do pretty much anything text related. its just a matter of making it known on other sites in other ways

Site vs Site battles.

They never work tho, but if by some sort of magic it could actually happen it would benefit us, we have great writers in all areas and when other writers see it they will want to join in.

Even if they don't admit it, they will come.

Well here's my final list:

1) Not be assholes to the new members. Telling them 'picture verification' is needed for battles. Because, you get less battles that way.

2) Better voting. I think it is safe to safe others think Netcees has a lot of DR'ing votes, which turns of members from battling here. I know you can't stop dickriders from dickriding, but there could be options to minimize it.

3) Get a VIP group for those that get a certain number of referrals. Possible make a VIP sub-sections for those that do this, or give them some kind of gift.

4) Organize the forum a bit. Discussion is a bit messy, imo. Could use some sub-sections like music/sports, etc to keep the topics separated.

I literally wouldn't still be here if people weren't assholes to me when I came here.

Site vs site battles have never and will never work tbh

we consistently have said we'd be nicer to new guys, then one new guy comes along and is a faggot and we forget about that

but generally we've been accepting, outside of the occasional attempt at getting a roast

and pretty much every text site is notorious for dickriding its own guys, in my experience NC is one of the better ones as far as fair voting. the issue usually comes down to someone coming here and dropping like its a live battle and not being hailed like a god


but yeah, more motivation to write and compete on this site in general could go a long way. we've always got leagues/tourneys going on but we need more competition to make it work better. we have the membership, its just a matter of less people competing than there could be

i agree about being nicer to people i also agree about the ismplicity

however i think a fornt page can showcase the talent we have

netcees is talented as fuck with the writing and itd be dope to showcase that so when people click there like "wow this looks dope they take pride in there writing and they reward for being dope at it" imo

This is a very talented site, I just don't see why it's so important to not be welcoming to new members lmao
