But alongside the selected voters, I wanted to incorporate the people with a thread and poll here. The poll will count as one vote for anyone who finishes about 50% after I discount any alias votes.

dead man

Accomplishments:
Art of Writing League Season 1 champion
Site-leading three Open Mic Hall of Fame verses

The case for: dead man is widely viewed as the best Open Mic writer on the site, and he is one of the most active writers in that section. But when he has commited to topical writing here, he has been excellent, winning the Season 1 title and finishing as runner-up in The Winter Topical.

The case against: dead man has a habit of not participating in competitions or no-showing too often when he signs in.

Summer Classic VI champion
Battle Arena traditional and picture champion
Picture Battle Tournament champion
Two-time champion of both the Netcees Battle League and Netcees Writers League
One Open Mic Hall of Fame entry (on the previous version of Netcees)
First person to win 40 battles on this version of Netcees

The case for: ill nik-A is one of this site's most active and respected battlers, and now he has a major tournament title to go along with all of his other wins. He's completely dominated the Battle Arena on this version of the site. And he participates in everything and doesn't no-show often if ever.

The case against: He doesn't have quite as many overall titles as others, but that's mostly because none of his championships came in keystyle tournaments.


Neighbor

Accomplishments:
Six-time Fight Night champion, including Fight Night of Champions
Champed the Pic Key Grand Prix and BA Slugfest
Champed 1-2 Season 1 and has been the league champion twice
Champed Netcees Battle League
Held Battle Arena Swag & Flow title
Won Newbie Tournament II

The case for: Neighbor is widely seen as elite in swag and flow and keystyle battles, and he's more than held his own in traditional battles. His Open Mic and swag and flow verses offer some of the best rhyme schemes around. He also has lost a number of tournament finals, generally to other top-tier battlers.

The case against: Most of his accomplishments came in keystyle tournaments. And he seems to have all-but disappeared lately and has a bad habit of no-showing.


Vulgar

Accomplishments:
Art of Writing League regular-season champion
Two-time Gimmick Battle League champion
One-time Fight Night champion
Write Week II champion
One verse in Open Mic Hall of Fame

The case for: Along with being one of our most versatile writers as both a battler and topical writer, Vulgar is one of Netcees' foremost roasters. He also gives great feedback and is one of the most active people in the Open Mic forum. He has won many picture battles and some traditional battles, and he almost never no-shows.

The case against: Vulgar doesn't have a ton of accolades, though part of that is because there haven't been enough available to topical writers.

I vote deadman an vulgar in. They 2 of the best writers I've ever seen on here. Nika an neigh o can't say cuz I don't watch the text scene hardly at all but those accomps look like enough to get em in if I had to choose yes or no so I'd say yes off limited exposure

neighbor has about enough accomps & pretty much fathered the modern style of S&F which like it or not is impressive. None of the other founding members of the style have as many accomps

The majority of original hof inductees didnt have half the wins/accomps/tournament wins that any of these guys have an the competition was about equal...from a battling perspective...coming from sum1 who battled every1 from nc1( well ok not now .. ...but neighbor an nik won plenty on NC1...the majority of their wins are from there). Nik one of the last active vets from nc1 still competing consistently. From a topical view the comp in the topical realm whether its the league or OM section has increased 10 fold.

my vote went for nik mainly because he has always been top tier since i found these sites in like 05

and by top tier i mean he manages to compete at the top levels even if he doesnt wow people with excellent wording or anything really. he's kind of markedly average but kicks it up and gets wins.

One of the big changes has been the word "active." Active battlers used to be writing 40-plus lines a week for various leagues, tournaments and regular battles. Being in only one league would get that used against you as a personal back in the mid-2000s.

Now we consider a battler active if he writes one 10-line verse a week, sometimes not even that.

ive written more with my discussion picture battle than these 'battlers' have all summer.

I remember being in a ba title match ...the survivor tourney...the NBL an a key tourney for some thing hens was doing with deadlines all in the same week...an we were successfully running fight nights like twice a week at the same time.

Looking back....its easy to see why people from that era burned out ....lost interest etc....self included
