Most sickening/disturbing movies you've ever seen?

I actually collect a lot of these, got most everything on ppl's top ten lists around the web.

I won't spoil them for you, but for those interested:

Irreversible is a good movie. I like anything by Gasper Noe, but Irreversible is one to watch if you can stomach it. Maybe youtube the Fire Extinguisher scene then see if you're up to it.

Men Behind The Sun is based on real events which makes it all the more horrific, but it looks dated now IMO, old but gold.

Happiness isn't so much horrific in a blood and guts and gore sense, I actually found it quite humorous in parts, but the content is dark. When the son asks his pedo dad if he would have fucked him and the dad replies, no, I'd have only masturbated over you - it really has you hanging on his every word. Brilliant acting. Great film for an entirely different reason.

I've chopped and changed this alphabetical list, some of the numberings out as a result, I had some films listed as their foreign name AND their english equivalent but I've taken them out as I've seen them.

Fuck wit the kid.

Alphabetical checklist for you sick fucks. I own a good 65-75% of these as physical copies.

canadian though, isnt it?

illergicreaxion 08-11-2014 03:10 PM

house of 1000 corpses and devil's rejects should be on there.... rob zombie makes some effed up movies...

TYSON 08-11-2014 03:17 PM

Oldboy is already mentioned but that's the one that stands out the most

Batty 08-11-2014 03:21 PM

Figured Caligula would make that list.

Hell, Passion of The Christ should be on there as well upon viewing some of the titles that made it.

I think Dead Presidents was pretty raw, the shit that happened in Nam was hardcore af.

Wait... Se7en isn't even on there?

Certain 08-11-2014 03:21 PM

Mulholland Drive, Schindler's List, Requiem for a Dream, Blue Velvet and Deliverance are very miscast on this list. American History X and A Clockwork Orange are debatable, too.

I haven't seen many of these, but the other ones I have seen on it are far more graphic and less artistic. The seven I listed, plus maybe Kids, Ken Park and Eraserhead, are worth watching.

Split 08-11-2014 04:19 PM

This is like a big list of movies I have no interest in ever seeing.

Fig 08-11-2014 04:41 PM

Begotten is fucked

Batty 08-11-2014 05:33 PM

How do you rank the movies where it's like the entire world is fucked in the end?

like "The Road" or "Children of Men"

I mean, it's pretty disturbing considering the fact that the world is probably going to get fucked in a similar fashion for real one day.

Badweather 08-11-2014 06:43 PM

The Human Centipede

it wasn't until the end of the movie that I realized that I had my jaw clenched shut the entire time.

Batty 08-11-2014 06:55 PM

Hostel didn't make the list.

sraL: You need a nr.100 on your list. Go watch Holy Motors. It's a french masterpiece, I'd like to say more about it but I went into the movie blind (knowing nothing about it) and came to conclusions of wtf was going on by myself, give the movie a chance. It's pretty dope.

You got some great movies here. The movies that stood out to me as fucked up beyond all reason was Kill List, Requiem for a Dream and Serbian Film in their own respective ways. Kill list was a fucked up brain bender for sure, Serbian Film relied mostly on shock value but still had a message which makes it f'd and Requiem for a Dream... Don't watch that shit high as balls. Not spoiling anything by saying this ofc.

I also enjoyed Funny Games a lot for the concept alone. Been wanting to see Bad Boy Bubby and Irreversible for some time. Blue Velvet is on my list of movies to watch in the close future.

You lack a nr.38 and The Machinist is mentioned twice btw. (The machinist is a great movie although I kinda enjoyed Memento more which is somewhat in the same lane if I remember correctly)
Since you go for a ''fucked up/atmospheric''-movie theme I'm also going to recommend these movies to you: Melancholia (Lars von Trier, need I say more?), The Bothersome Man (probably the sickest and most fucked up shit from Norway to date yet holds a story you can't help but engage in) and The Killing Room (although The Killing Room only got a 5.8 on imdb I loved it for what it was.) You might also enjoy Cube. Dunno if you're big on animè, but if you like brain benders and shit that makes you think give Ghost in the Shell 2 a chance and tell me what you thought of it.

Dope list, haven't seen some of the movies you mentioned so I'm going to use this thread as point of reference later on when I want to watch some sick shit. Good looks.

Certain 08-11-2014 11:53 PM

I don't understand the numbering of the list.

Never heard of Holy Motors or The Bothersome Man, will check those out.

Not sure if I have Baise Moi on the list but that's another I have at home, almost Thelma and Louise-esque? Definately check out Irreversible if you haven't.

Objective needs to come chill at my house, yo. I've got hundreds of these things you would like.

Objective 08-12-2014 11:00 AM

Word, can't help to love great movie collections, need to get my own back on track once the money flow picks up again. Irreversible and Blue Velvet is on top of the list of movies I'm going to see soon.

LMAO I'VE GOT IT AT HOME ALREADY

PISSING FLAMES BRUHS, THAT'S ALL YOU NEED TO KNOW

I'm always browsing YouTube and the web tryna find foreign craziness I haven't heard of. Found a couple new ones on this dudes list, no idea how good they are but posting them just to potentially add to the list for anyone interested:

Quote:

34. Cannibal (by Marian Dora)
33. Martyrs.
32. August underground.
31. Salo.
30. Slaughtered vomit dolls.

26. The Bunny game.
25. The Untold Story (A.K.A Bunman)
24. ReGoreitated sacrifice.
23. Slow torture puke chamber.
22. Guinea pig the devils experiment.
21. Scrapbook.
20. Aftermath genesis.
19. Guinea pig flower of flesh and blood.

5. Snuff 102.
4. Murder set pieces.
3. No Child of mine.
2. A Serbian film.
1. Melancholie der Engel.

From what I can gather, there's a couple of 'Grotesque' movies, the japanese one is the one you're looking for. 2009ish. There's a couple of Aftermath's, this guy says Genesis is the one you want. I've held off buying that so far because I wasn't sure which to get. I can't find a physical copy of The Green Elephant ANYWHERE.

MUZAN-E looks like a fucked up Jap slaughterfest. Never heard of Ostermontag or Reise Nach Agatis unless they go by other names. The Bunny Game is proving a bitch to lay ahnds on, too, though I did find an "Extreme Horror Collection Box" that had The Bunny Game, Murder-Set-Pieces, Subconscious Cruelty AND Grotesque in one boxset. No idea on price but i'd be looking to buy one of those for sure.

Just a couple

Objective 08-14-2014 06:46 PM

Freaks is one of the movies I'm reluctant to see, but have been recommended to me a couple times in the past. Seen a couple clips from it, seems to be disturbing as fuck but with a great story nonetheless.

I've heard a lot of great things about Salo, so I'd put it pretty high on the list of yours of foreign movies to see. I saw Guinea Pig Flower of Flesh and Blood ages ago, beside of being a cult classic it's generally pretty trash that goes solely for shock value. Might be kind of off-topic, but you should see the German movie Christiane F. if you like honest as fuck movies with a drug theme.

Sho Money EMG 08-14-2014 06:52 PM

The 4th Kind is pretty wild too.

Have you watched Holy Motors yet? If you like his stuff you'll probably love the shit out of Leos Carax as well. Just make sure to watch the uncensored version and buckle up for some ''da fuq's?!''.

I swear to God Lars, I can't say this enough: Watch The Bothersome Man, Holy Motors and Melancholia and get back at me, I want to hear your thoughts on those movies.
