Writing challenge tournament proposal and discussion.
 

Proposal for new tournament: following on from the AOWL with some differences.
A 8 wk competition – winner is the highest score after 8 wks if equal first place records it will enter a special tiebreaker contest. Subject matter is similar to so called ‘topicals’ but the weekly stimulus will be in the form of variety challenges. Each wk will have special general conditions, each writing contest must fulfill these general conditions/theme, and they will be released in a ‘Weekly Memo’ format/weekly predictions webpage area of the site. Contests will be divided into regular 1v1 contests, with each contest receiving its own specific writing challenge conditions for the week tied in with the general weekly theme. There will be a mix between each contest stimulus and they will be different for each contest. The writing conditions will be specific and designed to be challenging without hopefully being restrictive or one-dimensional. If there is interest I would enjoy to organize this tournament, although not participate and also make the short ‘magazines’ for each wk. Demographics interested for this tournament I think will be those who competed during AOWL tournament, but I also have idea for some weeks to have a general theme of 'battle rap' or similar etc. This Challenge tournament will be most similar in style to AOWL/NWL though, also due to lack of enthusiasm after the recent tournaments ending, the time-frame for starting this I plan to be sometime later, perhaps 1 month or 2 months, this is just an initial proposal, if you are interested or seek some clarification or want to make a discussion please make the comment.

You may write on any topic of your choice while conforming to the specific technical writing device for your specific contest. You can find below the contest match ups and specific writing tasks for each contest.
Competitors: Shop 8 VS Dread Man. Task: Alliteration.
Competitors: Wittney VS Magma. Task: Lipograms (E).
Competitors: LamBent VS Zealand. Task: Acrostic.
Competitors: Red Gear VS Partowned. Task: Cliches.
Competitors: Objectave VS Mark Worker. Task: Repetition.

Weekly Memo WEEK 2. Thankyou competitors for your submissions last week, they were entertaining and fulfilled all conditions, making me emotional. So this weeks general conditions are "READER RESPONSES". You may write on any topic of your choice while attempting to elicit a specific response from the voters. You can find below the contest match ups and specific writing tasks for each contest.

Glad to see an interest and positive response. Perhaps, in approx 2 weeks after AOWL finals is finished as a starting date would be O.K. to give some respite and also still be near enough to hold this interest. There will be a clearer sign up discussion area slightly prior to that, this was more just a test gauge if people like the idea. Yes MikeWrecka that would be great as mostly 90% I only use the PC on weekends, I am thinking my role will be to make consistent weekly magazines and write the Weekly Memo's which I will do on a schedule like that every Saturday Morning/Noon for the 8 wks. Things like creating the webpage areas I have no idea, but it cannot be too difficult, so if there is no one willing to assist in this way then it is possible to do it independently, although it would be great if there is two people organizing it like the King Keith/Split8 successful partnership. So who is the best/most willing to contact for this? Pancakebrah, Sharp9, Meth, Split8, Knucklehead, MikeWrecka? You all are familiar with the interface and have the administrator functions?

The only admibs you listed are myself, knuck and meth but modding someone for this is no problem at all. Between knowledge of vbulletin and quickness to get things done meth's prolly your best bet among admins
