NBL vs Summer/Winter Classic

What's more prestigious, winning the NBL tournament or the Summer/Winter Classics.

Meth 07-07-2013 08:27 PM

We have to wait til some one has done both, than we can ask them. Only person who's won NBL left in the classic is @God Of War tho

Cashius 07-07-2013 08:36 PM

I dunno if you have to win them to figure out which is more prestigious, tho...

I'd say the classics. More guys come out of the woodwork for them.

Meth 07-07-2013 08:38 PM

Agree with Cash.

I personally think its the classic...

I guess there's differing opinions tho.

Rawn M.D. 07-07-2013 08:40 PM

So I guess that pink slip is happening then if @God Of War beat philly @Aero

Meth 07-07-2013 08:41 PM

GoW didn't win. Battles still open

Geno 07-07-2013 08:48 PM

classics.

Rawn M.D. 07-07-2013 08:51 PM

Word @Meth

n btw id say classic bc nbl is more ongoing, so there's a better chance of champing

Cashius 07-07-2013 08:56 PM

We talking about playoffs...

Not champing a given week.

God Of War 07-07-2013 08:57 PM

i think it depends on who is in either tourney tbh

Rawn M.D. 07-07-2013 08:58 PM

I'd still say classic; nbl is more ongoing even if ur ur talking end season n also it seems as someone said the classics attract better competition for some reason @Cashius

Ghost1 07-07-2013 09:08 PM

Champing the nbl alone....or any league for that matter is harder.....u generally have to win at least 5-6 battles b4 even getting a title shot....then u have to win the shot.....to get in the playoffs u have to have a winning record....u cant just get in automatically like a tournament. To win a 64 man tourney u only have to win 5battles.

Nbl playoffs is easily a harder task. Not even measurable tbh.

But hey what do i kno. I only champed every single league weve ever had. HO HUM

Cashius 07-07-2013 09:11 PM

If The Classics were easier...then why ain't you won like 8 of them jaunts? Huh?!

Ohhhhhhh SHIT!

PancakeBrah 07-07-2013 09:11 PM

I'd prob say champing a week in the NWL

Cashius 07-07-2013 09:16 PM

Ghost1 07-07-2013 09:17 PM

Eye see.......i eat like shit. So word!

Cashius 07-07-2013 09:17 PM

Holler at me.

Ghost1 07-07-2013 09:19 PM

Hold your panties on G.

I'd be happy as a pig in shit if someone actually in the fuckin classic would vote. @ill nik-A @Alvin Karpis @Strikta @Allen Knight @Cashius @Sharp Nine @Orc @Beyond

I'm goin to go vote on the open ones now, lotta close calls.
And I think you'd have to compare individual tourneys but SC is generally better

Rawn M.D. 07-07-2013 09:48 PM

Lol I just made the assumption bc of the post above that quote... My bad @Philly.. But that's y I've refrained from voting in sc all together

Meth 07-07-2013 09:51 PM

Rawn do me a solid and vote in the last open battle in 1-2

Rawn M.D. 07-07-2013 09:55 PM

I got u @Meth, as soon as dexter is over so gimme 5 min

edit: done @Meth

Meth 07-07-2013 10:05 PM

Thx

hotdogvendorman 07-07-2013 10:10 PM

classics...tbh just being in a semi final trumps a whole season title

cuz usually season champs win with weak playoff runs

Joe Metts 07-07-2013 10:19 PM

Cause phil pretended i ain't still in the classic.

I REFUSE TO VOTE ON HIS SHIT.

Meth 07-07-2013 10:28 PM

Haha

~RustyGunZ~ 07-07-2013 10:32 PM

Old NBL IMO is more so if we're talking season wins. New NBL is not as prestigious.

I disagree. There's been plenty of times people have gotten title shots from winning just 3 battles because of their name or whatever else.

Making play offs isn't hard either. It's 16 so there's usually some people with .500 and below records in there, too.

Lama had the Summer Classic as the most prestigious followed by an NBL season.

Dominate 07-08-2013 02:00 AM

SC is more prestigious. You gotta win 6 rounds to champ, vs 4 for the NBL, and most people who are dope and active enter the SC, not so with the NBL.

And while you do have to have a winning record to get in to the NBL playoffs, it doesn't mean you have to have beat anyone good. Basically the criteria to get in to a playoffs is just don't be wack and have participated in the season for a reasonable amount of weeks

StarFaggot 07-08-2013 02:31 PM

NBL you have to compete in regular season and then there's a tourney. Much more task work than the SC but the SC brings all the established vets who're too lazy to do the NBL. SC may be more prestigious but NBL tourney winner is more accomplished. The NBL can create new legends whereas the SC seems to reestablish the old ones.

God Of War 07-08-2013 03:18 PM

half the dudes who is saying nbl is easier and less preestigious has either not tried or lost every time they have tried so obviously its a bit harder then being claimed

The competition for an NBL play offs is just easier. A lot of the best don't even sign up for play offs even though they dominated the regular season. I had to battle Hush in most of the Summer Classics I was in and I don't remember him ever signing up for play offs even though he's dominated during the regular season.

Orc 07-08-2013 05:34 PM

can agree w/ both sides

NBL season could be harder in theory but its usually not

and then SC does get doper heads but they noshow alot

except for like Seph and MetaSin that yr

still think SC is a little bit better

Ryan made the NBL playoffs with a 3-0 out of the woodwork.

Yeah, it depends on each individual SC/NBL I guess. But I can't think of any NBL play off run that was more impressive than any SC run. The SC winners tend to beat more/better top talent.

Ghost1 07-08-2013 05:45 PM

I think aero pretty much nailed it.

Can't take that post seriously considering he pretty much named Alvin Karpis an old legend of text.
