Heat in 7.

We all know what the league & ESPN wanna see.

The officiating will be horrible as well, I'm sure.

Spurs are the better team. They're as good as last year. Their ball movement and selfless style is just leagues above the rest of the NBA. They're like those Barcelona teams in soccer. They just execute you to death.

The Heat are a little worse than last year. And it took one of the greatest shots in NBA history to win it. Battier was a key player last year and he's damn near retired. Mike Millers gone. Their 3-point shooting is down, a key cog in what made them so formidable. James/wade/Bosh with at least one good three point shooter on the floor. Now they just have Allen who can only.play so many minutes. Their manic recovery style defense isn't as stout now; they've played so many games and their peripheral players are a step slower.

With all that said, LeBron James is the best player and the league and you can't look at it purely objectively when he's involved.

My mind says Spurs in 5/7.

But ill take the Heat in 6

El Muffin 06-02-2014 12:47 PM

Tiago splitter=x factor

If he plays well..its over

If hes just regular splitter then disregard ehat I said.

A legitimate post presence bothers the heat..n tiago is legit 40 percent of time lol so theres that. Dude like a poor mans gortat

namix 06-02-2014 01:13 PM

i really hope the spurs win...

Hush 06-02-2014 01:38 PM

but got the feeling heat winning tho (sadly)

El Muffin 06-02-2014 01:52 PM

Tim Duncan a closet homo: Fact

Divorce settlement raises eyebrows if u know details

namix 06-02-2014 02:04 PM

Spurs have home court right?

I just do not see Heat taking a game 7 away @ San Antonio...

I actually could see the Heat winning in 6 before winning in 7....

I bet if it goes 7 games, the Spurs win... I could see the Heat grabbing one of the first two away games though and make for a real interesting series.

StarFaggot 06-02-2014 02:06 PM

Heat have the younger legs and less playoff mileage as it concerns to this year. Rashad Lewis has stepped up and if it came down to it they could play Greg Oden. Spurs have a great system and unselfish style of play but so do the Heat.

Heat in 5.

Heat in 5.

You don't watch basketball. Heat are actually older than the Spurs overall. This is the 4th straight year Heat have gone to the finals. Oden is injured. There is no way Heat will win in 5 unless half the Spurs roster is out due to injury.

You clearly didn't watch last year's finals with a worse Spurs team taking a better Heat team to 7. Heat actually would of lost in 6 if not for 2 back to back 3's in the last 28 seconds of the game. Logic dictates this series is the Spurs' to lose, but people have a 'feeling' the Heat will win. That feeling wouldn't happen to be officiating would it? Because if it is, the Spurs actually got more calls last year.

I just don't see how any sane person would believe the Heat will win in 4-5 this time considering the following: (1) the Spurs are better this year. They have a better record, they are the #1 seed and have home court advantage this time (2) the home court system was changed this year from 2 3 2 back to 2 2 1 1 1, making it less favorable for the away team since they won't get 3 games in a row at home anymore (3) the Heat is worse this year. They lost one of the best 3 point shooters in the league in Mike Miller and were a .500 team in the second half of the season.

Another thing to consider going back to your point about the Heat playing less minutes in this post season. They haven't really been tested too much yet. Their hardest test was the Pacers and they turned into a .500 team, too, in the second half of the season and then looked mediocre in the play offs every other game. Not only that, but you also have to factor in the fact that the Spurs get to rest their starters a lot more than every other team in the NBA, including the Heat. I mean, Pop sat them out in the 3rd quarter of Game 5 vs. OKC this last round and then Parker sat the entire 2nd half in Game 6 in preparation for the Heat.

They're ready. First 1 seed since the merge to not have any players playing over 30 minutes per game this season. The Pacers wanted home court advantage in order to beat the Heat this season and ran their starting line up into the ground in order to get it. On the other hand, the Spurs realized they were older this year and made sure to play their bench more than ever this season, not only to rest their starters for the post season, but to also get their bench plenty of confidence and playing time in anticipation for the finals this year.

It's chess, not checkers, and the Spurs have made the all the right moves in order for them to accomplish what they want to accomplish this year. I'm not saying they can't lose, or even that they should be favored against the 2-time defending champs, but they have more than a snowball's chance in hell of winning. I can see the Heat trying to clinch in 6 like they did the Pacers (although the Spurs are wayyyy more consistent, have more offensive weapons, have much better ball movement, etc etc etc), but saying the Heat will win in 4 or 5 just doesn't make any sense.

Either way, should be a good and exciting finals. Can't wait.

El Muffin 06-02-2014 05:15 PM

Ok bomani jones

Paradigm 06-02-2014 05:16 PM

It all comes down to Tony Parkers health, again... just like last year

El Muffin 06-02-2014 05:19 PM

yo who come off the bench running the point for spurs? I forget

Patty mills?

Oh god

Tp health =supreme concern

StarFaggot 06-02-2014 05:25 PM

I learned not to go on a big spiel bc Everything is just guesstimations. Spurs struggled with Dallas in first round Bey so that nullifies a lot of what you say.

If this series is taken to 6 games it's only bc the Heat and NBA want to make this into some kind of legendary battle.

If you have Lebron James, Dwayne Wade you are not losing it's really that simple.

I'd bet money on Heat 3peat.

lol, Patty Mills has actually played very well this season off the bench. Legit 6 man of the year contender and great 3 point shooter/ball handler. Spurs have so many shooters this season, it's crazy. Mills, the 3 point shoot out champion Marco Belinelli, Danny Green who set an NBA finals record for most 3 point shots made last year vs the Heat, Ginobili, Leonard, etc. Hell, even Parker and Diaw make 3's at times. Heat can't leave anyone open on this roster without having to worry about them knocking down the open shot.

Just looked, but Spurs are the favorites vs. the Heat in the finals this year. Struggling vs. a 50 win team that would of been the 3rd seed in the East doesn't nullify anything. Dallas would of given the Heat problems, too. Just look at 2011.

You clearly don't watch basketball if you think the only way the Spurs take it to 6 is because the Heat let them and/or Adam Silver want a long series.

LeBron is the best player in the league, no dispute there, but Wade has been on the decline for years now. And even those 2 alone couldn't stop the Spurs from winning it all last year. It took a Ray Allen 3 (another future HOF'er) to give a whiff of that title. Not only that, but Durant is the second best player in the world and Westbrook is a top 5/10 player (better than Wade) and look what happened to them.

If you'd bet money on Heat 3peat, I suggest laying down some of that penny stocks money, boy, because like I said they are the underdogs this time around. Put your money where you mouth is and talk the talk, Mr. Friendzone.

But ayyyo, what's good with your Wizards? I actually enjoy watching them play. Dope starting line up that will only get better with more play off experience. I thought they'd beat the Pacers with the way they were playing, but they just made too many mistakes down the stretch. I'm really looking forward to their future, though.
