Week 12 rankings, chat and predictions
Hi, friends. Last week was good except that because of the lack of sign-ins and a few people no-showing and a couple others not voting, we didn't get enough votes overall. Let's be better about that this week, particularly with two fewer battles. Here are the matchups, with the topics being famous paintings, most if not all with a dark tinge to their subject matter: Championship 1. Zombie (4-0) 2. Split Eight (3-2) | Ashes by Edvard Munch Contender match 3. Frank (8-3) 4. Mike Wrecka (5-5) | Office in a Small City by Edward Hopper 5. Cereal_Killa (2-1) 6. oats (9-2) | Christina's World by Andrew Wyeth 7. Johnathan Mercy (2-2) 8. Soulstice (1-2) | The Triumph of Death by Pieter Bruegel the Elder 9. zygote (8-3) 10. Vividlyvague (6-4) | Skull by Andy Warhol 11. King Ra. (4-6)* 12. timeless (6-5) | Still Life with Skull and Candlestick by Paul Cézanne 13. Perpendicular (1-1) 14. Adonis (4-7) | The Face of War by Salvador Dali 15. Certain (2-3) 16. Vulgar (4-3) | Head of a Skeleton with a Burning Cigarette by Vincent Van Gogh * — King Ra. may have last week's loss turned into a win if he votes on three extra battles this week. Vividlyvague may not because he's already used that exception once this season. |
Hi certain. Will you allow me to bend rules too? Or no a la jdub?
I mean Im glad you know he reads verses for sure or that would make this league a joke right? |
Cool. I'm done arguing with anyone about anything.
I put more than enough effort into this league to make it worth participating in. Your thin skins are not my problem. |
So just so we're clear. I can have a little bit of time after deadline as long as I'm logged in?
Great. I'll be sure to use those 9 minutes for sure. Thanks mate |
1. Zombie (4-0)
2. Split Eight (3-2) | Ashes by Edvard Munch Feel like zombie might be running out of steam now, split been dropping heat 3. Frank (8-3) 4. Mike Wrecka (5-5) | Office in a Small City by Edward Hopper Going for the upset. I think mike wants it more 7. Johnathan Mercy (2-2) 8. Soulstice (1-2) | The Triumph of Death by Pieter Bruegel the Elder potential BOTW 9. zygote (8-3) 10. Vividlyvague (6-4) | Skull by Andy Warhol Could be good but vivid has been inconsistent and zyg rarely slips 11. King Ra. (4-6)* 12. timeless (6-5) | Still Life with Skull and Candlestick by Paul Cézanne Could be BOTW if both come with their a game. Good test for both 13. Perpendicular (1-1) 14. Adonis (4-7) | The Face of War by Salvador Dali Interesting style matchup. Adonis can win this if he goes more out of the box with his approach I feel 15. Certain (2-3) 16. Vulgar (4-3) | Head of a Skeleton with a Burning Cigarette by Vincent Van Gogh Another potential BOTW. Another dope week, stoked |
As mother's day comes to a close, I can resume scheduled programming.
|
So many ppl on netcees who suffer from depression...i wonder if they know.
They say knowing helps you face up to it and eventually beat it...it doesn't tho, it just makes you aware of exactly who you are and always will be. Maybe it's better not to know. |
lmao MMLP dipped out?
|
@timeless I'm feeling really good. I may drop today or tomorrow, but I'd love to drop today. Dope match ups. I've been slacking on the voting heavy, been caught up, gonna buckle down and get shit done.
I'll drop some predictions later. |

Championship
1. Zombie (4-0) 2. Split Eight (3-2) | Ashes by Edvard Munch >> GL Zombie. I'll be posting by Wednesday night or PMing to Certain Contender match 3. Frank (8-3) 4. Mike Wrecka (5-5) | Office in a Small City by Edward Hopper >>BOTW, though not on the scale of the moon-rope topic 5. Cereal_Killa (2-1) 6. oats (9-2) | Christina's World by Andrew Wyeth >> oats in a close one. CK brings fire but it overwhelms the topic, as Zombie said 7. Johnathan Mercy (2-2) 8. Soulstice (1-2) | The Triumph of Death by Pieter Bruegel the Elder >> BOTW contender as well.. JM is fresh af and Soulstice is starting to be seen as a regular in my eyes 9. zygote (8-3) 10. Vividlyvague (6-4) | Skull by Andy Warhol >> tough call. Viv showed that he had great strength in areas most of the league didn't know about last week... wildcard factor could assist him. Neither write for opponents 11. King Ra. (4-6)* 12. timeless (6-5) | Still Life with Skull and Candlestick by Paul Cézanne >> cool matchup, HOPEFULLY @King Ra. Shows.the homie. 13. Perpendicular (1-1) 14. Adonis (4-7) | The Face of War by Salvador Dali >> perpendicular in a close one, Adonis has been too meta 15. Certain (2-3) 16. Vulgar (4-3) | Head of a Skeleton with a Burning Cigarette by Vincent Van Gogh >> BOTW contender. Interested in seeing Vulgar's continued renaissance Sorry for not voting on everything last week. Had to pick up a friend who was drunk and ended up taking care of him |
@Certain if you wanna do some type of pre-playoffs writer profiles/ league summary, lemme know cause I like helping with that sort of thing/ com pairing contrasting writer styles
I can only write for 1 or 2 more weeks because of travel issues |

@Vulgar how much did you eat?
Side note: it appears that my gf has edited my shortcuts so that when I type the word "do" it becomes scooby dooby do. Apologies if I didn't catch that on any posts. |

Championship
1. Zombie (4-0) 2. Split Eight (3-2) | Ashes by Edvard Munch This is a toss in my eyes, but I'll with the gut here Contender match 3. Frank (8-3) 4. Mike Wrecka (5-5) | Office in a Small City by Edward Hopper Much like myself, I don't think Mike has the ability to consistently beat the top tier dudes. He can in spurts, but we'll see. 5. Cereal_Killa (2-1) 6. oats (9-2) | Christina's World by Andrew Wyeth Oats has been the Writer of the season thus far. CK has some dope verses, but seemed last week a bit off game. 7. Johnathan Mercy (2-2) 8. Soulstice (1-2) | The Triumph of Death by Pieter Bruegel the Elder Dope bout here, I'm sure you've danced before. If JM actually writes a full verse dude is a G, too bad he's a drunkard <3 9. zygote (8-3) 10. Vividlyvague (6-4) | Skull by Andy Warhol Good diverse bout stylistically here. Ziggie can and has beat us all, Vivid flurts with elite then drops some that are just decent. 11. King Ra. (4-6)* 12. timeless (6-5) | Still Life with Skull and Candlestick by Paul Cézanne This is a very even matchup. Maybe the hardest for me to pick. But my preference rests with King so it's hard to vote against that swash buckler. 13. Perpendicular (1-1) 14. Adonis (4-7) | The Face of War by Salvador Dali Fuck this kid 15. Certain (2-3) 16. Vulgar (4-3) | Head of a Skeleton with a Burning Cigarette by Vincent Van Gogh Vulgar seems like he's rounded his rough edges off and rid himself of the kinks. I look forward to his climb |
@Vulgar 2 grams is a good intro, but now that you have an idea what it's like, I'd recommend doing no less than an 8th per trip. I always have plenty of weed for after a trip, helps me sleep, and it's good to process shit conversationally. idk if you can cuz of military and all that.

If you do shrooms and haven't made shroom tea... you don't know what you're missing.
|
@Certain almost finished
