N flow, rythmn comes into play..

Look at the lyrics off bizzy bone, busta, tech 9, twista..

They are always tight, extremely tight..

U have to have certain sucture to make it flow..

So wen we say flow or rhythm it's to do with each lines structure..

We don't just say structure cause most good writers don't stick to the same structure every line..

Look it b.i.g classed one of greatest at flow, his short lines and internals did that.. Ofcourse his presence was a massive part but without the line structure there wld be no flow..

The thing is text battling is more like joke telling, wordplay and insults than it is rapping. Rap battles are something else entirely that are in and of themselves entire productions and performances.

What we put out is just some words. shit has to be able to stand alone to do damage without all the theatrics behind it.

There's a placed for technical writing, its more swag/flow battles. If you can integrate it into a regular battle good on you but at the end of the day its more about being able to deliver a clever hit through a concept.

the thing is, if you're insulting someone saying it pretty doesn't help if it doesn't CONNECT. clever/ witty shit's always gonna have that upper edge, when the idea is to beat ur opponent into the ground with words

as a general rule i make sure my end rhyme is at least 2-3 syllables, and you can always do inner shit if you like

@Split no offence chap but I do a breakdown on 70 percent of battles here whether I'm in the league that week or not. This week my feed was shit an I told everyone it was, an I told em I'd get em back with more detail next time but rl issues.

Don't be coming in here for the first week in god knows how long an tellin me im lazy. Always get to people with a break down most the time, send mails to anyone who leaves me with decent feed in preciation an helped out on the mag during the move here cus I knew knuck was struggling... So don't think I meet the lazy criteria

Watch most battles, they use variation on this scheme. Im not expecting any of yall to use that specifically but listen to the shit, they use multis and flow. its not just wack multi - long ass bar of text then wack multi trying to be a punchline.

plus if your whole damn verse is inside jokes i.e. "personals" that's wack. you don't who the fuck is reading the battle so your shit should have a modicum of dopeness to it regardless. a good personal here and there will win you the battle, good on you when used right of course, but not the whole damn verse.
