This is a tough topic. On one hand, the 'majority' of terrorists (at least made public) seem to be of Middle Eastern descent. On the other hand, not all those of Middle Eastern descent are terrorists. I was talking to my GF about this the other day. It's impossible to avoid thinking differently considering all the things that have happened. It's like going to a house and getting bit by a dog. You probably aren't going to attempt petting the dog next time. And certainly not if it happens numerous times. It IS unfair to do that to an entire race though, because even that dog example is just 1 dog. There are plenty of friendly dogs. I'm not comparing anyone to a dog, just making an example.

I am not wrong.
Christianity's Dark ages is synonymous with the Islamic golden age. |

Majority come from Middle Eastern countries?? Nope. Not at all. You must mean Eastern European countries. And Islam isn't a race lol. Basically, the Q'uran isn't meant to be taken in its LITERAL form. Thats where ya get these fucked up fuzzy wuzzys that go round chopping heads off and screaming shit out like wailing banshees. It is supposed to be taken as you read it - and interpreted in your own way. NOT as it was written. Cuz the way it was written.... that shit was accepted back then. Such as child sex, beastiality, honour-killing blah blah blah. Problem is, NOBODY can speak the fluent Arabic of yesteryear - so what ya get is some Imam in modern day mosques preaching shit to you that hes made up from someone who made it up, from someone who made it up. Its chinese whispers. British mosques (for example) are ran by the Saudis and they have a different outlook on Islam. They follow the idea that, as a muslim, you should follow the exact example of Muhammad. This is where the bad side of Islam crops up. And this is where the differences between the Sunni and Shi'a sects comes into play. Muhammad had people killed for saying negative shit about him - so now ya got these crazy extremists that cuz they believe god is infallible, and cuz they follow the religion for how it was wayyyy back in the day, they believe you cannot go against his word or speak negative of him. Shit like that is punishable with death in their eyes. Although this isnt followed by all sects of Islam. Its a minefield - but yea, point is, its EXTREMELY ignorant to believe that all Muslims are of the same beliefs. Get educated! JFTR - I'm not religious |
Diode - Ur Wrong.
|
RAWN is correct. Christianity from back then was just as bad, if not worse than the bad side of Islam you see today, and from way back. The crusades for example.

I don't know enough about Islam to accurately assess what you said, but I will second the fact that it's ignorant to 'hate Muslims.' Because like you said, there are extremists who take the text literally, but not everyone does. Just like there are extremists in every religion. |
doesn't Dark Ages refer to like centuries of missing written records
|
Quote:
You were talking about Islam and Muslims - then referred to them as a race. No? |
Yes, and there is a reason for the missing records.
Europe was in peril, fires occured, things were ransacked and lost. Why was Europe in peril though? The fall of christianity at the time. |

Dark Ages (historiography)
From Wikipedia, the free encyclopedia Jump to: navigation, search For other uses, see Dark Ages. Petrarch, who conceived the idea of a European "Dark Age". From Cycle of Famous Men and Women, Andrea di Bartolo di Bargilla, c. 1450 The Dark Ages is a historical periodization used originally for the Middle Ages, which emphasizes the cultural and economic deterioration that supposedly occurred in Western Europe following the decline of the Roman Empire.[1][2] The label employs traditional light-versus-darkness imagery to contrast the "darkness" of the period with earlier and later periods of "light".[3] The period is characterized by a relative scarcity of historical and other written records at least for some areas of Europe, rendering it obscure to historians. The term "Dark Age" derives from the Latin saeculum obscurum, originally applied by Caesar Baronius in 1602 to a tumultuous period in the 10th and 11th centuries.[4] mystery solved. google is an amazing new invention |
